So I recently bought my first S3 and I've just ordered my first "upgraded" parts - LCR Top Mounts, Bushes and Bearings along with a LCR Splitter.

I love the Idea of modding and upgrading my car using better but still standard of the shelf VAG parts. My last car was a 53 plate Golf V6 4Motion and I had RS8 wheels, R32 running gear, Phaeton interior lights, passat/bora heater vents to name a few and I really want to start the S3 in the same way.

I've been reading up on the LCR fuel pump but cant seam to find any reliable info so I'm calling out to my new family for some help on this part and any other OEM upgrades or mods for the S3 you can think of.

When I had my Golf a guy I new had a Golf 1.8t and bought and N75J valve from audi (i remember going to the garage and being laughed at when he said golf in response to being asked what car it was for)... at the time he mentioned it was from the RS4 IIRC again any further info or other ideas appreciated guys.

I expected to see lists of part numbers appearing by now...

TT pedals look good:

TT clutch pedal rubber
Order number: 8N0721174A01C

TT brake pedal rubber
Order number: 8N0721173A

TT LHD acc. pedal rubber. Size: 105mm x 47mm x 28mm
Order number: 8N1721647B

RHD TT pedal rubber. Size: 98mm x 40mm x 25mm
Order number: 8N2721647B

Usually can find them on eBay as a set.

fuel pumps are the same in s3 and lcr so thats that out the window.
there isnt a great deal to swap over other than wheels.

R32 arbs are a good mod, especially the rear one!

as for n75 valves, unless you're getting the car custom mapped with a different one, just keep the standard one on.

Jojo, I think the RS*'s might look at home on the S3...:lmfao:

Also, thought I'd ad som to the list myself before I loose the part numbers....

VW Golf V6 4Motion Boot and Bonnet Struts (Chromed Alloy) 1J6 827 550C

Seat LCR Front Splitter 1ML 805 903

Seat LCR Top Mount 1ML 412 331, Top Mount Bearing 1JO 412 249, Threaded Bush 1HO 412 365A, Top Nut N90353604 (all x2)

Also I don't have the part numbers but I've read somewhere that the timing belt set up on the LCR is better somehow??? and told to buy
timing belt kit LCR Belt and roller
LCR main hydraulic tensioner
LCR water pump
LCR auxillary belt

search me on the last one...

I wonder if those ARBS will mount straight up???

If you mean R32, then yeah. They're the same cars underneath. I fitted a 20mm (UK R32 is 19mm) rear ARB to mine and it does feel better for it. A bit sharper.

How about LCR Brembo braking gear, what's involved there is that something that would work easily?

very easily, and is very common too, if you can find a set for a reasonable price.
calipers, carriers, discs, lines needed for the swap. literally a straight swap.

some info for you, the S3 is basically the same car as TT quattro, MK4 R32 (different engine), LCR (fwd version). So the parts are pretty much interchangable, same chassis, same transmissions, same suspension (bar the lcr rear).

So its just a matter of working out which of these beasts has the best of which parts, like with the LCR top mounts i read that someone tested them to be stiffer than the others... has anyone already put together this info in a thread before?

its not all put together i dont think no.

basically, lcr has better top mounts and brakes
r32 has better anti roll bars and brakes. (and sound!)
and the TT has better, errrrrm, hmmm, dash maybe? its a bit more interesting.
the S3 is the best looking. and in most peoples opinions on here, the best all round car.

add those parts mentioned and you've got yourself a beauty.

Thank for that link matty, just thought I'd copy the part numbers over to here so all the OEM mods are in one place...

4 x N 010 236 6 (BOLT) 0.62 EACH

Seems most will recommend using SuperPro or NeuSpeed bushes over the OEM's, apparently not only the benefits of the better stiffer material but something in the design which is grease retaining?
