So, who's expecting delivery over the next few days of their new 62 plate car? Let us know how it goes. Mine's due to be delivered to my home on the 4th Sept. Load's of pics please everyone!

Cheers, Rich

Mine is being delivered to my house on Friday... Very excited and there will be plenty of photos for sure! :)

Only problem is that I can't drive it until midnight because that's the 1st September... Oh well, it gives me plenty time to learn the MMI and stuff! Haha.

Well my new company car (A4 Avant SE Technik tdi with lots of options) was due to be delivered on the 4th of september but they called and told me it wont be with until the following week.Something to do with a shortage of a certain part :(

At least the B8 A4 has clever electronics... my old TT didn't so when I sat on the drive playing with all the toys before going for a drive, it was only the CLICK of the starter motor that told me I'd had the ignition on too long! Fortunately after leaving it for an hour it recovered enough to start and hence I had to take it for a long drive to top it up ;)

Remember on the A4 you can play with most gadgets without having the ignition on.

Haha, it's good that it's clever enough not to kill itself. I may run the engine just to make sure it works... ;)

This new reg every 6 months is very annoying - my new car won't be new anymore from next week!

I hope you all enjoy your new toys.

Haha, I know the feeling... It's all nice until the next set of plates come out! I'm sure that we will all enjoy them, they'll still have the new car smell and everything. ;)

Nothing that will cause a different smell in the car. My diet is changing and everything. No more Chinese or Indian. Or baked beans. ;)

Wouldn't miss the Chinese but don't think I could live without beans or the odd Indian!

Yeah... Maybe just take the other half's car to go and collect and then just keep the cheeks clenched on the way to and from work... :scared2:

mine is in stock on 10th but won't have a 62 plate as my private reg is going straight on it

Im collecting our Q7 on Saturday, but thats being registered on ST11NKA so i wont be able to upset the local curtain twitchers :(

Or do of course.Women can smell it a mile off.

Haha! There will be none of that in my pride and joy... For now anyway! And will only be the missus anyway. ;)

Mark, the trip down to Edinburgh will indeed be good to put some miles on the new girl! :)

i imagine the checks they do would be pretty similar in the uk.

also says to be carried out within 48hours of delivery meaning would take max of 2days.

But they still have to service it after that chek

Save some time by not letting the chimps touch the paint.Arrange to get it detailed asap.

Couldn't agree more. Even the Supaguard isn't worth it from them as you'd be much better off and get longer results from a professional detailer and it would most likely cost less! I've said this before but after I saw them 'detailing' a car pre-delivery with Pledge (to make it shiny) I decided I wanted them to stay as far from mine as possible.

Depends what dealer it's going to, mine got delivered to port of Tyne - and got stuck there for over a week!

looking forward to seeing some of these new A4s as for PDI it can be done in a couple hors depending how much you push the dealer but due to the sheer volume of cars getting put out at this time of year youll have a hard time. e.g my A3 was ready the next day as was my S3 and RS3 but i realluy pushed them.

Yeah, when I was in on Wednesday sorting out the last little bits they were saying that there were over 160 cars going out the doors at just Aberdeen as of tomorrow morning through to Sunday close of business. That's a lot of cars! Basically said that for this weekend they stop trying to sell cars and just get the ones they've already sold out the doors.
