Had two new rear tyres fitted today to the S3 and drove up the road to find my steering wheel out of alignment and the car pulling to the left. When i taken it back to the garage they test drove it and agreed this was the case. They seemed puzzled why this had happened and said it could be the difference in tread on the front to rear tyres however there isnt much of a discrepancy as the fronts still have a good 6mm left.

Had 4 wheel alignment carried out today and the cars now set up correctly.
Heres the results:

The rear toe was out on both sides, and the offside rear camber was -1.53 previous to the adjustments. Must be tyres?

But still my wheel isnt centralised when going straight and the car is still pulling to the left. Only thing i can think of is faulty tyres? :s Any input / ideas much appreciated!

Step one of wheel alignment is usually setting your steering wheel to 12 o'clock (straight ahead) and fixing it there, then checking and adjusting the rolling wheels from there, steering wheel should always point straight at the end unless you've a wishbone or track rod end issue, both is which a garage should of spotted? Personally I'd take it back to the alignment place and complain!

Yeh ill have to go back tomorrow. I had my MOT only last week also so surely they would have spotted any other issues. Just puzzles me how i drove it to the tyre garage, watched them simply put new tyres on, then drove away with a wonky steering wheel :(

On the print out front right camber and left rear camber are still boarderline why have they not set them bang on???
Hope you didn't pay much!

what should they be like mate? Not clued up on all this alignment stuff haha
£35 it cost, im going back tomorrow as the steering wheel is still off centre when the cars going straight!

On the print out for each wheel you have two green bars one for camber and one for toe
You have a black line right in the center of these bars that is where the black arrow should point to. For both camber and toe or very very close to these values.

Sounds like they only made one adjustment if they charged £35
Have you got the before print out???
