Exhausts

I everyone. Was looking at getting a Milltek Cat back non res exhaust soon. I was looking on youtube at videos of them on the 8ls. Im not sure if i like the sound. Maybe its the bad quality of the video and sound. Anyone got any good clips/audio of their milltek systems?
Either that.......or does anyone recommend any other exhausts?

I used to have a Fiat Coupe 20V Turbo with custom exhaust and i loved the sound of it!

I think sandip has a miltek and that sounds really nice, I'm sure he has some videos of it too.

I got the Milltek non res fitted recently with standard downpipe and cats and although initially it was quite boomy loud, it soon softened up and now it sounds great. On boost is pretty nice. I don't have any videos but someone must do as they are pretty common. I think with a 3" downpipe, decat and XS manifold, it'd sound totally different.

His isn't a Milltek... its a custom jobber.. and he has an R32 engine fitted which will make the note different to a 20v anyway

I have a 3" res scorpion from cat back and it makes a nice noise, especially when warm. There is a vid on the last post of my progree thread, but it obviously sounds better in person..

My friend just got a non resonated on his 18T and is sounds exactly like my scorpion exhuast. I though the miltek is more of a quieter tone.

Anyway as I said I have scorpion exhuast and I love it. Not too loud on idle or around town but sounds nice when on boost

i have a 3 inch downpipe and decat and a chopped up OEM cat back and it sounds awesome.

Anyone got any ideas how i could achieve something similar to the link i put up from the Fiat Coupe at the top on my S3? (obviously with out buying a fiat again haha)
I love the sound of it! The fiat coupe is 2.0L but would that make much difference?

20v Fiats are 5 cyl, 20v VAGs are 4 cyl... never gonna get the same sound...

ah right ok thanks for that! I haven't really heard an S3 with an exhaust on in person before so I guess i should wait until i do see one in person. The videos I've seen don't sound very nice but i think its mainly cause they have the camera too close to the car so it blows on the microphone.

I'v just bought a 3" down pipe de-cat and a 3" straight through vortex exhaust !!! Not got it on yet but hopefully soon , can't wait to hear what it sounds like

if that is the same system i looked at, iirc the only box it had was on the mid section (and wasn't very big) which means it will be a bit too loud for my liking. But that is a decent price for the whole system! Hope you like it...
