Hi everyone,

Signed up a couple of days ago so thought I would introduce my self on here and post a couple of pictures of the new car, It's a MY2006 2.0T Quattro. It's having a Cam-belt change and Oil service at a local VAG specialist next week then Im hoping to add a couple of OEM mods over the next couple of months.

How you finding it?

Nice car and welcome to the forum! Can confirm that a remap transforms the car!!

Thanks for the welcome Sandra, nice to see an active forum.

I picked it up on Friday so haven't really spent much time driving it. My first impression was it doesn't sound as nice as my previous 6 pot BMW but the performance certainly makes up for it.

Get it mapped. The 2.0T responds well and drives amazing after a remap.

A remap is on the cards but for now I want to get all the maintenance out of the way, having a full service done next week when it goes in for the cam belt change and Im also having the coolant/brake fluid renewed whilst it's at the garage.

They certainly do!

What sort of gains am I looking at ?

Thanks mate.

There is always plenty going in here. Enjoy. :) x

Defo get a map done! Got my 2.0TDI 170 mapped on Friday. Massive grin when I put the foot down in 3rd :racer:

Yep, the K03 20T is transformed with a map, easy an extra 40bhp but you would swear it was more when behind the wheel.
Nice car, enjoy.

A remap is optimasation and recalibration of the engine management system in short.

On these cars, you gain a minimum of 40bhp and much more torque - as said above it feels like a lot more!

If you go for the remap,it would be advised to get the uprated diverter and also a decent induction kit to free up the rev range and then there is also the nice gargling sound it makes when driving (but not loud in a chavish way),depending on last service a new set of plugs shakes them up again ,you be looking 240-250 bhp with a standard stage one

Thanks for the advise, the spark plugs are getting changed this week and im also trying to find out if my coil packs need replacing due to the recall.

The coil pack probably do if they've not already been done... Mine had them done under the recall.
