*UK'S FASTEST S3** 450+BHP REVO STAGE 3+* FORGED ENGINE* RS4 BRAKES (2007)

Wow that's insane, I wonder why he is selling though...? With that amount of power it can't be too reliable

You would probally need to strip the botton end down and get the turbo checked...

Lol yeah I bet you something big is about to go pop. Unless your a mechanic, I would stay well away. Great car though.

and it looks like its been in a fight with a kurb... and the kurb won.. distroying two of the wheels.. and damaging the rs4 brakes.. untold damage to the suspension and other components?

Absolutely right.....he'd been caning it chasing an R8 V10,and shortly after, lunched a piston, having been running all of that on stock internals.

If you build the engine right in the first place,it can be perfectly reliable.....mine had run over 440bhp without a hiccup for 10 000+ miles, before adding another 60 or more bhp with forged internals...still perfectly reliable, and if you ask a number of us all running over 500bhp on this engine,we'd tell you the same.

One of the times it's certainly NOT better to buy modified. I don't really see why people are wary buying a car with an exhaust and a map, but this much work needs a lot of very careful checks before any parts with money. It'd be amazing to get my car up to 450bhp, but I'd always rather know exactly what was done when, and who did it. At that price, you can only imagine it's got a massive bill just round the corner so we want to sell it on to someone who wants to keep it going.

Exactly.....this car we all know had been caned to put it mildly, and has clearly also had an engine rebuild since that time, following the piston failure.

I know exactly who built mine, what parts were used, and have all of the bills, plus even the names of the engineers who worked on it,and whilst I am not saying the seller of this couldn't do the same, what I am saying is that a build of this sort needs to be done properly, and the car then needs to be looked after properly, and only if you do those 2 things well, will you get a reliable car.

Also.....fastest S3 in the UK.....probably not any more,as there are a few significantly more powerful ones around.

Dan is busy dismantling it and returning it to stock,as he has other plans right now.

Interesting, even the `special` gear gearstick?

Almost seems a shame to return a 500+bhp S3 to stock, although I guess economics rule.
Im sure the trick bits will be snapped up.

Last time I spoke to Dan he had another project in mind.

Hi alex do u think its worth while doing all the poly bushes?

Hi alex cool getting my car all ready ,so stage 3 would be the next big step , may do engine internals before bt etc, is there any thing that can be done to stengthen gear box?

Not a whole lot....you can get the bearings done as mine have been, but there aren't any uprated gear sets for the S3.

Can you not put diesel gears in the box like we do with Golf R32`s ?

I only took the advice from the guys who rebuilt the box......that's a good point though so I may ask when I get some time.

Thanks!

Had a think about it over the weekend.

When mine was rebuilt,it was the selector forks and a few of the bearings that needed replacing, but the gears were OK.
Also,the transfer box was toast.

It`s fourth gear R32`s tend to strip in the standard 02M box when going turbo so most people fit diesel gears as they are stronger and much longer so you then have a useful 1st gear and higher top speed. The gears are much weaker then the transfer box which even the 1000 bhp r32`s don`t break the gears as it`s the cases that get rip in two. I have several transfer boxes if you ever need one again.

Interesting that ,good one, i used to have a diesel gear box in my rs turbo ,as you could rev it to red line all day long :)

Mikey,

You're a star...I hope not to need any transmission parts again, but if I do,I know where to go.

I am reasonably sure the problems with were there from new as the box always whined a bit and coming from a straight cut box on the Escort I didn't really think about it too much.

When it was stripped down there was a considerable amount of brass filings around in the box.
