Hi,

I picked up my 58 plate Sline A3 Sportback a couple of weeks ago and it came with the bog standard DRL. I have seen some of the slightly newer A3's with the LED DRL which run along the top edge of the head lights, would it be relatively simple to swap these over if I could find a set?

I am not too fussed about them being Xenons, if this makes any difference?

I have had a look through the posts and can only see gash links to non OEM LED lights on fleabay

Thanks

Tom

post a pic of what lights you have i suspect you are prefacelift

Can't be prefacelift as they didn't have DRL unless fitted with Xenons.

If it is facelift (and it should be on a 58 but it is right on the change) then it is a straight swap to Xenons with LED drl in terms of actual fitment. You then have to fit washers, levellers etc...

he never stated if he had xenons or not, granted he said bog std but it could be a late register prefacelift

but you cant get the led drls like mine without xenons

Am I right in thinking you only need auto levelling for bi xenons, but not for xenons?

sorry it is a face lift without Xenons, do the LED only come on the xenons then?

Yep you will need a set of headlights ballasts adapter loom new leveller unit and level sensors

Oh! :sorry:

So, not much point in retrofitting a set off fleabay then. Explains why Audi charge nearly a grand for the option too.

Maybe a white LED bulb upgrade is an option granted not as impressive as the xenon headlamp unit ?
