Think I've told you about my opinions on this before, but....
Mine's also a FWD 2.0TFSI DSG and is remapped by superchips/bluefin. Basically, a 2.0T without a remap is a waste. As said above, it totally transforms the car. A few times I've switched back to stock and it feels so underpowered and sluggish, can't believe I used to drive around like that.
As for pulling away.... if you plant your foot then yes the wheels will spin very badly and you'll get loads of wheel hop. And if its in the wet... forget about it! But you soon learn. Now I can pull away fast without lighting up the wheels, I've just got to concentrate on how much gas I give it.
When rolling you've got more room for error. If you plant when rolling at low speeds then you will still probably get the odd quick wheel spin between gear changes (2nd/3rd) and also when the turbo comes in in 1st and 2nd. But in the dry its mostly ok.
My MPG is pretty much the same since the remap.... maybe a tiny tiny tiny bit better but nothing significant.
My advice... take what you read here with a pinch of salt because most people are going to swear that their remap is the best in the world even though they've never driven a FWD 2.0T DSG (and that's the important part - a FWD 2.0T DSG) mapped by another company. So search the internet for reviews from people who have actually owned cars with each remap and try not to listen to people who comment on remaps that they've never driven for a length of time.
There are plenty of REVO 2.0T reviewers out there, and the number of Shark'd 2.0Ts is slowly building. You'll find it more difficult to find lots of reviews for bluefin'd A3 2.0Ts, but search for bluefin'd Golf GTI reviews (its the same engine) and you'll find loads.
I found a very good video somewhere on the net where it had a timed drag race between a 2.0T REVO and a 2.0T Bluefin, both FWD and DSG. The bluefin was a bit quicker up to about 70ish, but the REVO pulled back after that giving them an almost equal run out.
Obviously that was just one run though.
