Hi guys I have a Audi a3 2008 2.0lt tdi 140 sline hatch an are looking to buy a full set of tyres. I have good years at the moment an they are pretty low an they are making a terrible noise. I did think it could be wheels bearing but I've had this checked an they are all fine! I want to get a good set an to make sure they are as quite as possible! I've tried search for my answer on here but had no join in finding a perfect answer. The tyre size is 225 45 18. Thanks for ur time an look forward to reading ur reviews as this noise is driving me mad!

Looking forward to this as i'm due a change.

I had fullruns when i bought my car and the noise was horrific I thought I had a bearing gone. I ended up getting Continental Contisport contact 3's. These were queit but worn out very quickly. I have since got 18's RS6 and i'm running Falken 452's on the front and michelin PS3 on the rear. I'll be getting fronts renewed soon and they will be Michelin PS3's they are brilliant in the wet.

PS3s are getting on a bit aren't they? I'd go for the F1A2s.

my December 2011 sport has pirelli p zero rosso's on it and I think they're pretty quiet. Grip well and have nice turn in.

Uniroyal Rainsport 2 here on my A3 cracking in the wet, brilliant in the dry and very quiet.

Went for the good year A S 2 had all four replaced at my local treadfirst for £500 all in. Very impressed with the rim
Protection. On the down side I'm still getting the noise I once thought was the tyres :( not as loud now but still there.

Things I've had checked:- tyres, wheel bearings, brakes an drive shalfs all ok!

Been told it could be the gear box or dual mass fly wheel :( but the noise is still there when in gear or out of gear an with the clutch up or down so I'm thinking it can't be those. My Cam belt will be needing a change in the next couple of thousand miles ( which will take me months an months to do ) could this noise be a bearing noise from one of the tensioners maybe......

Car is on 63,250 miles.
