Hi All,
Do you know whether it is possible to play DVDs on the MMI included in the Tech Pack High on 2012 FL A4s? The DVD player is listed in the spec...
Thank you

Think they do but can't confirm - have been led to believe this from Audi and B&Os websites

I can on my MY2010 and believe the later models do it too.

As far as I know the Vehicle In Motion tweak works for all the models with DVD.

p.s. It's in surround sound too :D

I have literally gone out to my car in the pouring rain with a DVD to try this! It does work, I couldn't get my iPod to play them through the AMI but now I'm happy.

I would like to know this Vehicle in Motion Tweak too..... driving to France in the summer with my brother and one can drive while the other watches movies!

Nice to hear it works! I hope to be able to get the vehicle in motion tweak completed too, picking up my new Audi on Thursday and driving to France and Spain in it this summer. Would be nice for my better half to watch movies whilst i am driving, especailly since she does not drive! if any body knows the tweak or where we can have it done, please help. Thanks.

Hi, collected my new A4 today. Tested a DVD and it works fine. Just need to get that VIM tweak done now. Do you know where I can order the USB dongle from? I can download the VCDS-Lite from Ross-Tech for free right? I'm new to Audi and VCDS so any guidance would be very welcome. Thanks.

The only way to get the tool is to buy from an authorised reseller. VCDS Lite doesn't work on later cars, only on so called 'dumb interfaces'.

If you don't want the expense then why not look for someone nearby who will do it for you.

I've spoken to a tech friend and he asked me for the long coding. Does anyone know where i can find this

I understand its to do with the cable, I have the blue and red version as I have an ipod from 2005 and it wont work with the new cable. I was told I would need the new cable if I got a new ipod so I could play movies from it. I dont which colour is the new version but its worth asking Audi if they have given you the wrong cable.

It depends if it's 3G or 2G. Mine is a Sept 2009 (i.e. a MY2010 car) with 3G and it was perfect for the slog to and from Disneyland Paris at the weekend :)

The Sat Nav in my S3 had the 3D High Def Screen, 2 SD Card slots etc and the one in the more expensive, NEWER A4 can't!!! Can't believe Audi would do that!!!

The S3 was getting to the end of the life of that platform so they put bells and whistles on. Not all cars are at the same point in their lifecycles.

Audi (and others) don't sell cars with the very best they have as soon as they have it. They as the extras in an attempt to keep it fresh and continually encourage new purchases.

I guess it depends if you need the differences that come with 3G?

2G navigation wise actually worked better than my 3G!

I've found out the car I want to buy has DVD Sat Nav and was registered in April 2009. Will I be able to play DVDs on it?

I'm tempted to say 100% no .... but I'll say 99.9% no.
