Update 7/27/2009:
Great news from Arizona.
There was a break into their shop. They broke through my drivers side back window, as of now, what is stolen is not known as of yet .
I'm sure they stole mycamera, my tools, and god knows where I'm gonna get a rear window.

Update 8/1/2009:
Went to a yard in Kennedale, TX. Just short of Ft. Worth, picked up a transfer case from a DBQ transmission.
300 dollars.+ 50 bucks to ship
They should have it by the end of the week, then should be able to put it all back together, and ship it by the end of next week I hope....
Update 8/7/2009:
Got off the phone with APtuning in PA. They have the transfer case in their shop, and got the gears back from the machine shop they sent them off to get cleaned since they were so "burned". All gears look good, and synchro rings also look good. They say the only thing they are going to have to replace is some of the internal bearings, and the tranny should be out of the shop by next week enroute to AZ. They said that the part numbers match on the transfer case, so everything looks to be a green light!
Update on the actual car:
Their insurance is going to come out sometime next week to replace the window, they say they can PROBABLY source the window (which I have my doubts about). If not, their company does make windows, and will custom cut and make one if they can not. They also said that the tint will also be redone to match the rest of the windows....
They didn't say what they are going to be doing specifically about my stolen camera, but did promise that I will be "accommadated"...
Ughhhh.... Crunch time to make it to H2ointernational is gonna be tough:sign_unfair:

Another update... after a few assemblies and trial and errors....
Transmission needed a full on rebuild. 2nd and 3rd gear were scorched beyond reuse, all new bearings, and two synchro rings, new transmission cases, and transfer case.
But, just over 2k later, transmission is getting crated and shipping out tomorrow to Arizona!

Nice car!! the front end is awesome, i also want the rs4 style bumper with the grills!! did the genuine lower grills fit without modifying the bumper?

Just wish I had one more month to finish it for h2o. Flying out next week empty keyed.
And will, no they didn't fit perfectly, we had to do quite a bit of cut and molding to get it to sit right.

Its hell having import trouble in the States.... just like its hell having an American car in Europe... Greece specifically, paying over jacked prices for used stuff and feeling lucky you found it... I have an S3 over here and its paradise for a VAG group car here but my other vehicle's a Wrangler 4.0 fixed up with Banks headers on it free flowed Old Man Emu lifted, Centerforce Clutch, 32" Goodyear Mtr's, Special Motor Mount, KN, Ferrari paint (deep Blue Swaters) and have been off roading, rock crawling breaking things....
Got tired of spending crazy money on that thing... it used to bust on me in mountains and now its just sittin purty in front of my house ready for its rejuvenation, it runs and all but it needs alot of stuff to be the **** again...
Pimpin up my S3 8p first and then back to the Jeep....
It seems like for a thou I can get one from Texas, where my bro can locate one and ship over a part if I need it.. way cheaper... maybe you can do something like that for your S3 or just order direct from Europe... freight is nothing to what you have paid from what I saw, just be patient plan ahead and you can get the bestest and freshest stuff for your s3 from good old Europa! All the best to you... Youre a hero!!
Actually this whole thing seems like a cool movie idea to me... pair up the S3 along with a Lancia Delta Integrale possibly some other characteristically european niche car like say...Peugeot 205 Rallye edition... and the setting is somewhere through the deserts of New Mexico .... Euro stranded in the middle of nowhere...and adventure ensues just for the parts....to get to the car show where there a girl gonna be waiting and so on.... like an automotive spaghetti western on the other side of the lake though! ha ha! Take care! If you need any help locating something let me know... you can find anything on here... its crazy.. just got an idea for a creative writing script... Thanks....

Update: transmission has been completely rebuilt. (this is only page 1 of 2 pages of the receipt)
Transmission has been delievered to Arizona last thursday, and should be up and running completely by this afternoon.
Then the car will be taken to the bodyshop to repair the damages from the break in.
Since this is a holiday week here in the states I probably won't be able to get the car back until next weekend.

Car was started yesterday afternoon for the first time since June!
Transmission is installed! Throwing a bunch of codes for now, probably from sitting, so hopefully we'll get it cleared up more this afternoon, and then it heads to the body shop to get the window seal and window re-installed.
Should be flying out next friday to go bring her back home again!

Later on Sunday and during the show, three cars took to Ocean Downs dirt practice track, doing their best WRC impressions. However, it was another forum regular in his rare Mexican-import Audi S3 that has garnered headlines. After doing some dusty drift sessions, he briefly evaded Maryland State Troopers, side swiping a parked car and parked trailer before he exited the grounds, got a flat tire and stranded his trashed S3 in a nearby median. Cort what were you thinking?

Here's what it looked like the last day/time I drove it. That's the new owner sitting shotgun.
The night before...
But I sold the car about a year and a half ago. Lost my license till 2013, and sold all my cars. The car had a full rebuild with a large turbo. Dyno'ed like 483 to the wheels I think. New owner went back to a stock front bumper, took all the tint off, OEM Facelift headlights, and a bunch of other goodies.
BUT, last week he pulled the motor because his gf wrecked her 8L with a Turbo R32 shoe-horned in there and is in the process of putting it in the S3.

Im totally heartbroken. Some stranger in England doesn't like me. You don't know the whole story, but it's ok, I think I can squeak by today under this immense emotional roller coaster you put me through.

It was 2007. 5 years ago. I paid for everything including a full shave job on the mk3 I hit. So it was actually better from when he started. I don't have the car anymore. But rest assured, I've got something way cooler than a s3 in the works. I've got a year and a half to button things up.
I don't care what he or you think about me or my character. As far as I'm concerned I really don't care about this entire website anymore. I just got an email the other day fr someone bumping this thread do I figured I'd give you guys the inside scoop of what's happened.
