What car shall i get next?

247 for a mk5 r32, pointless car to mod for power if you ask me - you'll spend loads of money on an exhaust and chip and be lucky to get 15 bhp out of it that works out to ovoer £100 per bhp lol

most see about 260bhp from a remap which is fine but i think its more about the delivery rather than peak power. Dunno about exhaust etc what that adds.

Theyre just nice cars in general. I know what ya mean westy but if i do wanna start modding again i could always sell it again and get something else. Who knows still need to test drive one etc i might not like it :)

my mate has an ST didnt wanna copy. Plus the handling is gay. Boost is awesome tho

Thats why generally they dont map for power. Its mapped for the delivery of the power it already has and making better use of it. Whatever you gain ontop is obviously a bonus. But yeah its still a fair wack of money.

remap is only £250-300 same as the s3. Plus if u listen to the video above the standard exhaust sounds awesome!

Aftermarket sounds like it would **** me off after a while (and anyone within half a mile of me), the flapper mod is my choice :)

grrr Jason i think its a bit too boomy and sort of loses that gargling sound. flap mod sounds like it would stab you if it had arms and the standard is superb as a...standard exhaust!

I'd have one, I think they're a really nice car. Nice mix of comfort and speed.

I'd leave the engine alone and just do handling mods for a sorted daily :)

Bit juicy though I'm sure!

They wont remap to 260 im afraid :/ have you seen the thread on the 8p about the guy trying to add more power to his 3.2qauttro, i think you may get 250ish bhp but thats your lot, car is also heavy and my mates 210bhp cupra r kept up with a mk5 r32, the car sounded lovely but wasnt goin anywhere.

Right it's all settled then.................. now run along and buy one :whistle2:

Tryin to get rid of me Westy? :(

Failing that you could always go for an Audi TT

Or if you want to live a little get an R8 and be done with it

Very rarely will an R32 see more than 260bhp with any mods short of cams or forced induction (£££££).

I had a look at rolling road results, at Awesome I think, and standardish cars were making about 230 - 240, remapped ones with Milltek were 240 - 250ish. Not that much torque either. I was quite surprised.
They do sound great with a Milltek though, but so do lots of things. An Alfa GTV Cup (V6 3.0) for half the price, for example.

LOl warren

JS thats fair enough ill have another look. also at the audi prices etc. maybe even just get a a3 2.0T FSI or something. Im gonna test drive a few different cars and check em all out see what theyre really like

If you want a turbo converted one it's better to buy one that's already been done as the seller wont be asking for £25K for the car.

i dont want one thats been turbo'd unless its not much more than normal but i doubt that very much.

Anyway mods may aswell close this seeing how im gettin hated on for being indecisive and liking a car that aint an a3 or s3 :p

S3's are rubbish, you don't want to buy one of them.

Thread closed ;-)

I'd be all over an E46 M3 like a cheap suit if it were me in your position, in fact I'm toying with the idea of getting another one myself only this time i'd keep it longer than 3 weeks (don't ask!). They are great cars and far better than any Golf.

I'd stretch on the insurance for that.

winter time puts me off in an m3. Id be scared to drive it if it was a bit slippy. plus insurance is more
