Boost Key Fob With Vagcom?

I need to be right up close to the car before i can unlock it with the fob (I've tried changing the battery).


I'm sure when i first got my car i read that the range can be boosted with vagcom...


Did i read this or am i imagining things again.....lol

A bit off topic but......

If i was to buy a second hand fob off ebay and code my car to work with it....


Would the fob still work in the persons car i bought it off ?

No the bought key fob wouldn't work unless you changed the transponder to a blank one,and then had it coded to yours.

I synced a new fob to the car today and the range is perfect


Is there some way of fixing the old fob ?
