Hi all , been thinking about lowering the car with H & R 35mm springs and possibly 8mm front and 10mm rear spacers, car is currently on std suspension and 18" rs6 alloys , i am aware that the car will only be dropped by about 20 to 25mm on this set up and was wondering if any one could be kind enough to post some pics to give me some idea as to how it would look. thanks

This is 45mm H&R springs, 12mm H&R rear spacers, no front spacers, OEM 18" Pescaras (Same size/ET as your RS6's)

If you drop an s-line with H&R 35mm you're only going to get a 10mm drop.

S-lines are already 25mm lower than standard and the drop that H&R quote are from standard height.

Thanks smoothie , idealy i would like to drop by 45mm but can only find 35mm by H&R for the quattro, if im only going to get a 10mm drop as ads says i may have to have a rethink. would you say that 12mm spacers on the rear would be fine without rubbing.

Smoothie, any chance you could upload some more shots of you car to see what your car looks like on 45mm H&R's and rear spacers, maybe from the front or side? cheers buddy.

Spacers general rule with spacers on the standards seems to be 12mm on the back 10mm on the front. I looked at going along the same route mate and was told the same it would be pointless, speak to nate about some V maxx coilovers, better ride than the standard S line and a better drop

thanks shane, yeh i think ya right, its looking like coilovers ive pmd n8 just waiting fora reply. im just trying to whatch the pennies.

400 will see you right for a set of v maxx and they are very good, my cars so low now and still handles well with no clonk rattles or squeaks!

N8's the boy to hook you up :)

Tip is to get your wheel alignment done when you've lowered I didn't bother and scrubbed the front tyres with in 2 months...

thanks for the tip moosh, will certainly be havin wheel alignment if ya can scrubb tyres in 2 months .

As requested, few different angles of how mine looked with 12mm H&R rear spacers, 45mm H&R Springs

This one maybe give's you a more realistic idea of what the ride height was on the H&R's:

And this one maybe shows you the look that rear spacers only achieves, its a much better look than front spacer IMO You mentioned that you were thinking of 15mm spacers on the rear? Mine as i said were the 12mm and had no issues, you will have to remove the "dreaded arch screw" to run 15mm spacers without issues, if i was to do it again id have fitted 15mm

Apart from coilovers is there anything for the 170 quattro that will drop the car to the same ride height? Looks awesome smoothie!

Yea the only issue after fitting coilovers, 15mm rear spacers and 11mm front spacers is the ****** screw, I was thinking of removing it but thought it would let the corner of the arch swing loose !

Thanks for the pics smoothie looks really good ;) did you add the s3 skirts ?

Would the eibach springs not lower slightly more than the H&R ones? Coilovers look great but it really comes down to what you use the car for etc Mine was my daily driver so i couldn't justify major lows or any rubbing issues

Really love the look of your old car here. The 3door S-Line with the S3 skirts, really is so subtle, but just works with the lines of the car. Hope your getting on with the BM alright lad. Nice to see you posting back on here.

Cheers Nate, appreciate that! Yea will try and get back on here from time to time, never know i could jump ship again down the line lol although getting on great with the BM, such a comfy car from day to day...havn't had the same need to modify though as its a well specced Highline model, OEM staggered setup as well 9J Rear & 8J front, just a little something for you lol

Yep i added the S3 skirts mate, and the black optic mate, everything else on the exterior was factory! BTW don't put on front spacers it will be a much better look without them and if you don't like it with just the rears then you can add them at a later date

He did Jake yeh, alot of money, but alot of result IMO

Sure did bro, TPS all the way

Glad your enjoying it, hope your not running runflats as those MV3s are prone to cracking! They have sets and sets of them in at my place week in week out for repair.
