Help I keep thinking of selling!!

this is how my trail of thought was/has been except the loss of money isnt the factor its more the amount of money it would save me by selling it..keeping it does mean more money will be piled into it.. im not bored of the car i love it and driving it is soooo much fun but i keep looking at other cars and dreaming, taking the fact the money would be ideal at the mo as when i say decorating its not a case of leaving the house and doing it as and when either my house is mid way through a conversion from comercial property to residential so everything is new and the works have to be done its not a case of leaving stuff :( im a worrier and i guess i see money tied up in a car that has little use these days.. if i ride the storm and get the house done selling the car will be a thought of the past :)

Damned if you do damned if you dont eh It would be hard to let it go for the marked value, people dont care whats done to the cars these days just how cheap they can get them for.

Still sell it...Jojo wil have it as he's down to only one S3 now

keep it, doubt you'd get a penny more than any other s3 on the market, cars are money pits

re-trim might add 2% to it's value as with the paintwork, when buying second hand people are more worried about "what needs to be done next" so things like new tyres and brakes add more value imho

keep it, you've already made a mistake that we all make, throwing money at something that will give you no return lol

Return isn’t always measured financially, his return from the investment was the enjoyment and pride in his car, much like everyone else on here, money spent on a car is not wasted...

and this is coming from someone with experience - from purchase to now, I've spent around £23,000 on my ducati in the last 4 years, it has under 6,000 miles on it lolol

27k could have been spent on holidays, motorbikes, a year brake from life, all sorts lolol

here.................. lol

bike's now worth about 10k, even with the extras, although i'd make some money selling the parts i took off though

oh really?
Dane said he bought his S3 for 5.5k, spent the same modding it , didn't seem to enjoy the process or result now selling for 6.5k

Unless you've got another car to use already you'll have to factor in it's replacement.

Looking at the work you've put into your S3, I can't imagine you'd be happy in a 1K micra so the 10K you'd get will actually be quite a bit less.

Car's (with very few exceptions) always lose value, houses generally don't

the s3 is garaged 90% of the time these days, i use a polo 6n sport as my daily now its wicked but its nice to get into the audi and feel the quality of the car in comparison.
i have been looking at possible replacments theres a few cars sub 7k id have but yes it would swallow all 10k probs to get it how id want, and then the spending starts all over again thats my worry :(
