ASN's Pub

Posts have really slowed down now, i guess it is around lunch time.... hands up who went pub for lunch?

Question for the A3/S3 owners. Have any of you removed the rubber by the scuttle panel to help get rid of some heat? If so, all of it or some?

Is it really that bad?

What is it for exactly? I ask before the other night mine was stationery on the drive for a while so I popped the bonnet and their was loads of heat in that area, and I remember reading that some people had removed part/all of it..

Nah the rains not that bad but it's quite wet for August!

I dont know what it's exact purpose is or whether its made any difference at all by removing it. When I had my catch can venting into the engine bay I nearly choked myself by removing the rubber seal but now the can vents to the rear of the car it's fine. You'll also notice how much louder the engine is without the seal.

Thats your new project Westy, a twin turbo canoe boat which has the same power to weight ratio as a peanut getting shot out of a canon.

WOOO, more DV noise to go scaring grannies through the high street.

Mines off too, I always see heat coming out and it makes sense as the heat didn't really have anywhere to go before hand.

It is more noisey but mine makes enough awesome noises as it is.

I was thinking of doing the same thing, so that I can put it back on when I get rid of it.. It might not do a lot, but any heat out of my under bonnet oven is a bonus..

I touched the strip when the car had been stationary for a while and it was more than warm, so the air must be trying to get out..

Didn't really get a good look at your car at AITP dane, will be good to see it at ADI.

Theres not an awful lot to see tbh

No fancy exhaust mani, no hybrid and kind of too high looking on the new wheels, but I will be there! :)

That is why you need the GT30..Lot's to look at and talk ballocks about

Mine is still on standard shocks and springs (don't look so disappointed), I'm unsure whether to rock the 18's again, or stick on the 17's...

And with regards to the 'Prawn' thing, within reason, any heat out of the engine bay is good, surely

yeah, i'm not so bothered about when it's moving as it's got more air going to it anyway..

Ads was first, but Scott is also in the running but there's talk of s3girl taking the title

Ok. It my not happen today at this rate, lol

O u look back Sandra u will see some strong attempts to get
To 10,000, especially with one worded posts

One of the newbies made a good point, we're in a pub and no-one knows what everyone else likes to drink.

Social - Pint of Carling/Fosters/Grolsch(SP)/Sol/Estrella Levante

To get messy - Sambuca/Copius amounts of jagerbombs/double JD + Coke

Other (relaxed) - Guiness, Soco + lemonade

Good point reesy.
I like tequila sunrise or margarita.
I also like the red aftershock.

Tequila is the one!!!

Or a nice crisp beer, my mum just bought me 3 crates of Carlsberg Export for no reason.....win!!

Fosters, Krony. Vodka & Coke, Rum & Coke. If I want to get messy, Sambuca or Jager Bombs :puke:

Sambuca is a bad one for me, but I have been known to consume between 15 - 18 jager bombs in a night!

Jamison n coke also don't mind a few shots of goldschlager!

I have heard good/bad (depending on how you view it) things about goldschlager.. Meant to be quite good at getting you 'on your way'

Have you guys checked out the you tube links with boy on his bike.

lol
Sambuca, No
Jager, No
Absinthe, No

I honestly can't even put the stuff in my mouth or I throw up, too many a night spent banjaxed on that lot (shudders)

Proper cider or Proper beer ftw!

I haven't touched sambuca since a heavy session in Ibiza at the end of June. After some :puke2:ing, I decided we should have a break!

Where's that picture of Kenneth Williams again lol

I have retracted my statement and changed it to another personal favorite. :lmfao:

The only reason I mentioned that was to get the posts flowing, I am allergic to coconut :ninja:

I have also been known to dabble in a dark rum and coke as well as poncy lager such as Birra Morreti and Pilsner Urquell
