carbon looks lovely on the lava, makes me want to do mine!!

but we might have to take you down for murder here.....your number plate has become a cemetary :)

mind you i suffer the same problem with dead flies on the number plates nightmare to get off aswell!

What tint did you go for? Gun metal smoke or subtle tint?

Looks really smart, especially on Lava Grey - next on my list this :)

I went for the 6% tint that they do which is the most subtle i believe

Lol sadly i think all 170 PD's were fitted with Siemens ECU's.........had a look in detail at my map file and to say its weird would be an understatement!!

Yeah I thought you might like what its learnt this last week ;)

so did it have them or not bud

Don't get me started........Cardiff Audi are a complete bunch of time wasting tosspots :aggressive:

Arrived there and got booked in. 10 minutes later I get called back to the service desk to explain why I'm here. I explain that its a safety issue and I want to know if my car requires the uprated injectors. Girl on the service desk replies 'but we only replace them when they fail.' Urm NO!! I explained that Audi UK had arranged and agreed to see if my car requires the latest injectors.

Another 10 minutes goes by after they speak to Audi UK and they came back to say we need to re-book the vehicle as we don't have the gaskets and also we have to wait for the engine to cool before investigating. I asked why hadn't more time been allowed for this and why hadn't I'd been informed at the time of the booking? Couldn't explain that.

So the end result is its now re-booked for next Friday. I'll be contacting Audi UK on Monday to complain about the ****-up and ensure I won't be paying to use the courtesy car I've booked when I drop the car off

Suffice to say that after this is done Cardiff Audi will not be getting any future business from me. They couldn't even change my service regime from longlife to time & distance on the DIS. I had to do that myself......

Well Cardiff redeemed themselves slightly today. Arrived this morning and booked the car in and was told that all 4 injectors were being replaced :D They had contacted Audi UK who told them to replace the injectors no matter what!! Result! Had a crappy 1.6 A3 as a loan car; thing couldn't pull the skin of a rice pudding!!

Got my cruise control bits from Jonny on here and also got some carbon fibre mirror covers en route

All I need now is a new job as I'm now unemployed......

Had notice given a month ago but we are owned by two people. One is a cnut and the main director. The other is a 50% shareholder. The cnut boss wants to end it so we are going through the motions but he's doing everything without consulting the other owner.

Its very much up in the air at the moment and I could potentially still have a job in a couple of weeks but in the meantime I'im jobless :(

Good news on the car mate. Cardiff came sort of good in the end then... Last day today then. Interviews being arranged??
Saw you on the telly last night, they showed the VW day at Castle Combe from last year. Have you seen it?

Well this morning's job was to retro fit the cruise control; big thanks goes to Jonny (JB0o) from here for supplying the kit and help over the phone as I got stuck removing the steering ECU

Few pics of taking everything apart

Back together again

Total time was approx 90 minutes including a quick test drive  Knowing how to remove the steering ECU I could easily have fitted it in under an hour

Saved a fair chunk of money too :)

Well been using the cruise control extensively over the last week and its not bad at all; takes a little getting used to as whereas I'd naturally lift for corners, going downhill etc the cruise maintains the speed so it can feel like the car is pulling you along and its a strange sensation feeling it brake when heading down a hill

Works well on a nice motorway cruise; on my jaunt to Worcester I stuck it at 80mph and averaged 47mpg which is on a par with what I was getting but with lifting off etc etc

Not much else has happened although I have fitted some LED numberplate lights
