You could of ironed it before framing it ;)

The BBC and Sky Sports will broadcast Formula 1 in the UK between 2012 and 2018 under a new rights deal.
The BBC has been the exclusive broadcaster of F1 in the UK since 2009 but its contract with Formula One Management was due to expire after the 2013 season.
Sky Sports will show every race, qualifying session and practice live.
BBC Sport will broadcast half the races live, as well as the qualifying and practice sessions from those races.
Both companies will broadcast in high definition.
The BBC will have highlights on TV and mobile for any race it it is not showing live, and all races will be broadcast on BBC Radio 5 live.

BBC Sport - F1 - BBC and Sky awarded rights in new Formula 1 deal

Crap, so from next year I wont be able to watch every race live :-( can see there being a downfall in F1 with reduced coverage in the UK, I for one am not paying for skysports.

Barney Francis, managing director of Sky Sports, said: "This is fantastic news for F1 fans and Sky Sports will be the only place to follow every race live and in HD.

errr no its not fantastic news for fans, its probably the last thing they wanted!

I have sky sports anyway so it's no big deal for me but it does suck.

this sucks ***, sky sports is a waste of money imo, i dopubt they will ever beat the coverage of bbc. the beeb has the best setup and best commentators and lee mackenzie mmmmmmmmmmm

They will lose so many fans from F1 if they move to sky sports. I seriously doubt the quality and coverage etc will be any different too so just anything way to make more money I suppose.

Does anyone watch the F1 on BBC HD. I got a 1080P tv but not a HD box yet, whats the difference like.

Hamilton P1 in practise 1, times are irrelevant but good to see.

Not watched the F1, but my sister has a freesat hd box, and bbc hd picture quality is very good so i'd imagine the F1 coverage is good too. I've watched footbal in HD and the picture quality is very good

No shocker really. Bernie needs to recoup the billions he paid in the divorce. Wont matter to me as you can watch live races streaming off the net and transfer it to my 50inch tv. no biggie..

you can stream the live races??? in that case i'll be fine too, just bought a new laptop with HDMI and rigged an ethernet ring ip.....sky sports *fingers up!!*

Yeah you can stream it. Ive watched loads of live Sky sports boxing fight live over the net. I never pay to watch big fights.

Reading on Twitter on what Martin Brundle and loads of other people are saying, they are not happy with what bernies done. Ive got a feeling it will still be free-to air but guess time will tell.
Either way we should be ok to watch it free live :yahoo:

This is sad news and judging by the comments on the Sky homepage the majority of subscribers think so too....well the ones without the sports package anyway. I think the ratings will suffer dramatically and that's got to have an effect on the sport in the long term particularly here where alot of the development is done.

I just hope the likes of the BTCC/WTCC don't go the same way and sell their soul to the devil.....Sh1t thats tempted fate!

I really wanna meet Bernie on the street.... just so I can punch his big head in!

LOL sign me up to see that event live..

I think the people that have sky sports already will watch and the people that dont will either go to a pub or watch the highlights.

So for bernie to think he will make more money is stupid thinking.

you wont catch me at a pub trying to watch the race with a load of people who not interested in it talking all the way through it discussing why cardiff didnt make it up to the premier league lol and lets face it, football season is upon us(woo hoo) so who is going to show F1 when they have so much football to show.

its either pay for sky sports and watch the F1 once every 2 weeks and then inbetween watch dumb *** boring ****ee cricket or golf(sorry for the fans out there i just hate the 2 sports) and the occasional time Chelsea play and pay something like £40 a month for which is £480 a year on top of your TV licence........ or die!!!!

lol well ill be in New Zealand in 2012 anyway so i hope they show it out there.

all you computer boffins, how do you stream things??? ive only ever done it once but didnt hook it up to a tv just watched it on laptop

Easy.. Either use the tv socket on the back on your laptop via lead going to your TV or, if you got an xbox online, you can connect the 360 to your router and PC :D

Well I missed last weekends race, first time in a long long time i've missed a race...was picking up a new car though.

Not missing this weeks though, hope it's a good one.

what a quali!! boring Vettel top again booo but what about Massa out qualifying Alonso :)

Great Quali, really though LH would have had it in the bag in his last run!

Anyways, do you guys think Vettel has the championship in the bad, or does Hamilton or Alonso still have a chance to catch up?

Vettel's pole obviously aids him, but I can't help think he will lose first position into the first corner, as I have a feeling the Redbulls are not that great on racepace of late. Plus in order for Vettel to lose the Championship, both the McLaren's and the Ferrari's need to keep him out of the podium places for it to work.

I think Vettels got it sorted this year just because of the big gap there is....but I don't think it's all going to go his way. Now McLaren and Ferrari are back with Redbull I can see another few victorys going Hamilton and Alonsos way.

Heres hoping next season is closer and not the Vettel show.

Looks like Red-Bull are on there back foot and starting to panic...Read below..

Red Bull Racing breaks curfew in Hungary as it works to find more pace

Red Bull Racing broke Formula 1's curfew limit for the first time on Friday night ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix as team members worked extra hours to make set-up changes to its car. After a first day that had left Sebastian Vettel adamant that the outfit needed to raise its game, the team elected not to stop work during the restricted 2am-8am limit in a bid to improve its performance ahead of final practice and qualifying.
Teams are allowed four curfew exceptions during the season, the allowance having been put into the regulations in case outfits are forced to work late for unexpected repairs following accidents or reliability problems. Any team breaking the curfew for a fifth time will be punished.
Red Bull Racing's decision to break the curfew simply for car improvements could be viewed as evidence that the outfit is on the back foot against McLaren and Ferrari – which led the way on the opening day of practice.

I saw this earlier on the Beeb, they are in a commanding position but just don't want egg on their faces do they.

I think that Vettel will have the second title easily.
If Hamilton and Alonso win few times each, they will split points between them.
If Hamilton wins 5 times and is second 4 times he would finish with 331 points
If Vettel wins only one race and then is not better than 4th every other race, he will still finish with 337 points and win championship.
It is still mathematically possible but not gonna happen.

Looks like Bernie is following the money once again. No BBC live coverage will mean a huge drop in viewers for half the races. No point in going for sky. tried that with moto GP and they kept moving it from Sky sport 1 to 2 to 3 so you had to buy the lot. who wants to pay £40 a month to cover all bases.........not me.
Ex F1 Fan :)

Can watch it on the internet for free bud when it moves to sky.

Get the f1 app fior your phone or ipad, it streams the race live, its available for most platfiorms and works really well.

Its a really good race so far though, plenty going on. Wish it would rain again though, i like a wet race.
