Been looking for some subtle interior mods for the motor and have come across these two bad boys.

Really really want the speaker grilles not too bother about the handle (yet) but really cant justify the money it costs for what it is.....

Has any1 got any suggestions or cheaper retailers.

I would love to get an Alpine Version..... instead of the BOSE ......Can they make that for me ?
 
who cares....

I bought a set of bose grills, filled the bose with isopon, sanded down, sprayed and stuck on Focal logo's to suit my boot build.

good point! was just thinking more about the company that makes up the illuminated Bose grill... they would probably refuse to make the Alpine grill

Have to agree with you fran the price far out weighs the wow factor for me!
 
yeah its not worth the money in my opinion if they were more like £25 then yeah maybe but not worth that much you could prob make them your self for less lol
 
Yip thats settled it, these are not getting bought, cant justify them being worth that sort of money :( shame
 
just as an idea... how many of us here would actually buy it if it were cheaper? i know i would and it sounds like there are a few here... maybe we could email them and ask for a group buy discount?

Id be very interested but I dont think they would knock much off tbh, probly a waste of time
 
well i sent an email so just have to wait and see what he says. i dont think he is selling many of them at that price so you never know. no harm in asking eh?

here is the response i got from the seller...

Thank you very much for your e-mail!

I thing the best idea is if you collect all original BOSE grills from your
members and send me.
Then I can use them and the price is much better ;-)

Price is 49,90 EUR if you send me the BOSE grills.

If I send all BOSE in one package back then the shipping is free!
Otherwise if I should send the BOSE to each member it will cost 5,9 EUR for
shipping each package.

What do you thing about it?

So who is still thinking about this? it works out to be £45 for the grills and another £5.30 for the delivery... just over £50 if we all get the grills to the seller and then he can send them back individually.

If I can get a recount on numbers of who would be up for this at the above price... this way i can confirm with the seller and get some details from him. I will still need to ask about his return times.
any ideas welcome guys
 
I'm up for this. Will need instructions on how to remove the current one and obviously depends of turn around time.

But for now I'm all in!!! :)
 
Ash I'm up for the challenge.. Couple questions tho - if this is on an exchange basis, are they normally just sent out without having to do this? and also, how much are Bose grilles to buy normally (without LEDs)?

..... Ok so I just got off the phone with Audi parts dept.. They say the Bose strip at the top is £10.34 each and the speaker grille part is around £8...... Just for anyone that's bovvered lol

Ive just read the instructions on how to connect it up. I may have a problem as its connected to the "door handle lights" which i dont have :3sadwalk: which will make it a bigger job than anticipated for me.

Looks like ive set abit ov a wanted mod off here still very interested, dont have the bose strips already, what does he mean if you can send im the strips? is he then only putting a light in for £45 quid he can sod off! if hees sending the full set with LED's for £45 im still in.

Looks like an email could have been worth it afterall :)
 
I don't have door handle lights either and if it means I'd have to have these fitted, then don't think I can be in on this :(

Scott, Im a little lost with what you first said...
as far as what i understood is that we should send back the whole original Bose grill to him... then he would send us back the LED version at a charge of roughly £50...
now I am waiting to find out from him if he simply swaps or modifies our Grills...
also you will see that our grills are solid, where his ones have the 'BOSE' part fitted with LEDs and allows the light to shine through.

I might be a little cheeky and see if we can get a better discount as we will be sending our 'Genuine' Grills.

It says door lights as its the closest source of ambient lighting to the door panel. Surely you can extend the wires and take them to the Cig lighter or the light switch.

Just saw the update...
would it be too hard to order a strip and just modify it ourself? get the LED behind it and somehow make the Bose part see-through?? Just asking questions that are coming up in my head!
 
It could be done mate but the fact is you have a load of people he dithering over what is only a tank of petrol TBH. Full marks to you for tying to sort something but ya banging your head on a brick wall when you have people here trying to fit illuminated Bose signs.... who dont have Bose... and others that think LED's will shine through an aluminium pressing. not to mention those who's "gramer"/ spelling is so bad i cant make out what the mean at all !! (Looks like ive set abit ov a wanted mod off here) WTF :)

Yet another useful post from paddy there, obviously cant understand perfect english. . .

I dont have the alu grille at the tops of my speakers m8 so its not a case of sending my origional speaker/grille away i would only need the alu strips+LED's i can fit them myself, didnt know if this is what you meant? i would need to send anything to him just a case of paying him and receiving the goods

Im not interested in this one bit but had a read through anyway.What I seem to have read from above where someone listed the price of the Bose strip and then the speaker grill is that if you dont already have the Bose strip your going to need to replace the entire speaker grill anyway to accomodate the actual Bose strip, otherwis it`ll just be stuck ontop of a regular speaker grill and look like a Blue Peter job.

Its all about perception Paddy... you never know, it might have a placebo effect. :)
