A4 Avant Black Edition Delivery date!!!!!

I'm on for delivery next Tuesday ! after six months of waiting this is the most painful bit !

I went over to the dealers last night to do some paperwork and saw the car, looks nice.

The only little bit disappointing thing was the tyres - Dunlop SP Sport MAXX. I've got a really bad experience with these tyres. I thought most of the 19" wheels had P Zero's on them.

Another thing is Audi no longer fit the 3.0 part of 3.0 TDi on the boot.

Collecting first thing on Saturday :yahoo:

Stu
I know you'll be busy playing all weekend
But I need photo's as soon as!
I noticed that they don't put the engine badge
On anymore just TDi! I want the 3.0 badge!
As for the tyres can't comment on the dunlop's
But have seen some new audi's with P zeros

Yeah, some photos might help kurb my anxiety till tuesday, I bet this weekend is gonna drag !

Loads of us with the 19's have the Dunlop. They're not isolated cases.

Mine have been fine (apart from one ice/snow). I've only done 7k so far so don't know how they'll wear.

whip em off and flog em on ebay.Or pre delivery have a word with the salesman to see if there are other identical wheels with diff tyreson. As i understand it, its whatever audi can get supplied cheapest at the time. They went through a phase of contis and bridgestone.Seems to be dunlop and pirelli now. When i order my new one i will specifically state what tyres i want, and will refuse delivery otherwise. It aint funny having crap tyres cos its at least 800 squid to change.Im real anal about tyres

the 3.0 badge is only a couple of quid from the parts dept.....stick a 2.0 badge on and scare the **** out of people!

I've asked the dealers to fit a 3.0 badge for me during PDI. I wouldn't be surprised if the 3.0 is more than a couple of ££, I bought two V6 T badges for the sides which was best part of £45.

I also asked for the wheels to be swapped, no can do. No surprise there to be honest.

Don't you two go getting to excited waiting for pictures, remember mine is a Saloon not Avant :whistle2:

That video is good, especially the music, i thought optimus may make an appearance at some point ;)

Whats wrong with the dunlop tyres then, i guess i missed this problem?

Nice video.

I actually passed a car transporter on the M9 yesterday with at least 3 BE's on the back- looked very nice.

Today was D (Delivery) day so as requested I have a few pictures for you :racer:

I'm no David Bailey as you will no doubt see and to be honest was more interested in driving it that taking pics :eyebrows:

To follow up on the pics -

Overall very, very pleased with the car and of course the service from Crawley Audi and more specifically Kylea Reed.

I've still to have a look through the manual and have a tweak with a few things but a couple of things I am pleased with are the KeyLess Entry, the Hill Hold Assist and the optional Alcantara seats.

I had HHA on the S3 but the A4 is in a different league and I would suggest any of you whom have ordered S-Tronic and can still amend your orders to add it. There is a second switch near the handbrake switch which when activated will 'assist' the braking and so far for me most notably when you stop at a junction the car will hold on the brakes allowing you to release the footbrake without the car creeping forward.

Stu that looks the mutz nutz - love Quartz grey!
Nope can't spot any errors??
....And i see the 3.0 badge is on - good stuff!
To be honest i'd forgot you'd spec'd the S-line and not the BE.
Can't wait for some inside pics and the alloy shift padddles.
Did you say you'd be changing the S-line side badges for V6T ones?
I really like the supercharged badges Audi SUPERCHARGED Schriftzug Emblem A6 S4 Carbon NEU | eBay UK but i guess not for a diesel!
Any other plans - Chrome mirror covers?
Can't add HHA at this stage - don't want to risk my wk 27 build, although the dealer said it would'nt, it move from wk 24 when i changed to tech pack high and added power tailgate.

Enjoy!
Cheers
Keef

The 3.0 Badge went on at the dealers yesterday. :eyebrows: It comes with 3.0 TDI on a placement sheet to line it up. With the TDI removed you can line that up with the fitted TDI and position the 3.0 correctly.

The V6T badge is here - S4 V6T badge | Audi Forum

I did originally order a BE but decided I didn't want the BE wheels and wasn't keen on the BE black inlays so that only really left privacy glass which is not available on a Saloon so I thought ****** it and changed to the S-Line but with the BE options.

I popped out today with the VCDS and have enabled Sweeping Needles on startup. Tried to get into the hidden MMI menu for some other tweaks but so far it evades me so more work required there.

Watching the GP now but I may tackle the paddles later if I don't go out for a drive. I think the biggest ball ache with that would be to disconnect the battery.

Other mods I'd like to do Keef are to paint the callipers black - Probably powder coat. I'm 99.9% certain it's the same calliper as the S4 (S4 uses a larger diameter disk and different carrier) Maybe once that is done you could fit the S4 calliper trims too.

Right i'll be telling my dealer to fit the 3.0 badge - i assume you didnt have to pay £?
To be honest i don't really know anything about tweaking VCDS so excuse my ignorance
but what are the 'Sweeping Needles' ?

What a gorgeous car!! That colour is the one I would have chosen if I had the choice, or more to the point...money left!

With regards to the needle sweep, can mere mortals like myself do it or do you require specific software/cabling???

I had a quick google, cant seem to find a clear step by step guide? Is it just via the MMI?

Thanks

Dave

It's a simple tick in a box Dave but you need access to VCDS.

The needle sweep is just one of many little tweaks you can have.

There are lots of people that have VCDS so perhaps we'd be able to find someone near you. Where are you based?

Based in Cardiff Stu. Not picking up the car until another 3/4 weeks time, but I am a rep so always on the move so to speak!

Would be great if i could meet someone to get that mod done, and im guessing there's more too????

Thanks

I've managed to access the hidden MMI menu now but not changed anything yet - Maybe tomorrow :eyebrows:

The method seems to be slightly different to the widely publicised one, but I'll make a separate post about that for everyone to see.

Not an area that I frequent Dave but I'm sure we can find someone near you as most VAG fora have lists of willing members.

Superb, thanks!!

Hopefully your still enjoying that new car buzz!! Very happy for you, lovely car mate!

Been to the dealer this morning and my car has left the factory :yahoo:.

They have offered me £7k for my fiesta which is bang on so thats good, just have to decide whether to finance the car or not. Balance to pay is £24200 after discount and deposit (trade in plus the £1k already paid), monthly repayments over 3 years would be £387.39 with final value of £14336.45 (plus purchase fee of £60). Works out at 6.6%.

I think you'll struggle to get a better rate than that. Have you got the £1300 from Audi if you take it on Solutions?

With these things the figure that matters to me is the cost to purchase which in your case is £27955.10 to repay the £24200.00 so interest charges of £3755.10 over 3 years.

I think you'll struggle to get a better rate than that.

Definitely a good rate, just can't decide whether to just pay the whole thing or not. Got a total discount of £3500 (Audi solutions contribution on BE is normally £3200).
I'm not sure whether I want to be tied into keeping the car for 3 years, or if I take out the finance and then like it so much that I end up wanting to keep it longer and ending up paying the final payment which would bring the total amount to £39155!!

With Solutions you can repay at any time, you can even make over payments if you wish. You aren't tied for the term and the deposit contribution covers the interest so it seems a viable option.

My deposit situation was a little different to yours so I have juggled the figures to achieve an acceptable monthly payment with a very low residual. Not sure if it's the right thing to do or not but it's done now :noway:

Again my decision is based on overall cost to purchase.

Oops, you are correct, the total payable over the three years would be £35894, not £39155. I was just reading off of the quote without realising that the total amount payable includes the dealer contribution! Cheers.

dealer called today and car build starts on monday. Counting the days now instead of months :)

Excellent news!!

I called stealer yesterday and was told mine has just been built, awaiting shipment!!!!! So excited I feel like a child!!

Went to the dealer today to sort out the finance and was told that it should hopefully be with them in two weeks time.
