well it is only 344bhp but touqe is 366 which is quite and a amd remap is not the same as a revo revo wld of got me 360 to 380 bhp as it is more agresseve map but im happy for now with what i got BUT MUST BE HONEST I WAS ABIT DISSAPOINTED AS WAS EXPECTING 370BHP ANYWAY when i get a new uprated clutch i will be going back and get them to get the 370bhp mark hopefully or might just wait till i do a turbo and brake conversion which sld be fun! and the top man you all discribe there was on holiday so that could also have somthing to do with it!
The difference between 344 and 360-370 bhp is all at the very top end,and frankly won 't make a lot of difference to your everyday driving, whereas nearly 370lbs of torque will make a huge difference in mid range acceleration.
The car will adapt a bit as I've said earlier, but don't get too concerned about small differences, plus a Revo map may raise that figure a bit....what made you decide not to have Revo's map put on?
s3 alex can you tell me how much the turbo converison is fitted?
The ATP kit will come in at about £3500 or thereabouts, but you will need to add in fitting, some fabrication(i.e.downpipe and induction piping to turbo inlet)and other bits like Zircotek to add some heat shielding in critical areas.
AMD know all about this,as we fitted all of this to mine.....allow at least £5-6k and you should be in budget with some spare.
The OEM clutch simply won't take this, and to be honest, yours is already living on borrowed time, and you will need to get the suspension and brakes done first.
Allow £1k for clutch and flywheel inc fitting, another £1200 for the suspension, and around £1700 for the brakes....dont' forget uprated engine mounts.....THS or VWRacing.
If you don't get these done before the turbo, you'll have an evil handling thing to contend with.
yea will do clutch soon but no slipping as of yet! will do brakes same time so then just the turbo conversion as i said before i want 450bhp mark then ill be:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
AMD also know this, but it's not a good idea to go much beyond 450lbs of torque on stock internals, but they do seem safe up to that....
Above that you need new rods, pistons and bolts, and possibly a top end rebuild, but at least the bottom end needs doing....thats on my to-do list, but the intercooler and mounts are next.
