Had my A3 for about 3 months now. Had a few things I wanted from the right car including reasonably low mileage in either Akoya or Grey, leather/ alcantara + armrest & BOSE. Found a good one that had been on 10k servicing rather than longlife & everything I wanted but BOSE. A deal was done.

Drove it standard for 3 months whilst I resisted any mods. That came to an end with the arrival of some Fat Fives about a month ago...

Stuck these on fairly promptly... as expected, sat a little high, hehe!

From then the search began for some coilovers. I eventually decided I was gonna go down the budget route & order some JOM's after hearing nothing but good things about the value for money they offered. Next day delivery from Venom...

After having Koni's, Kw's and FK's on previous cars I was curious to see what the JOM's would offer in terms of quality. They certainly seem sturdy enough even if the bodies are lacking the nicer finish of premium brands.

Popped to G-Werks on Friday and the boys popped the fronts on for me whilst also giving the car a service. I did the rears myself over the weekend & promptly wound them down. The back is right down (perches in) & the front is also all the way down. The back defo goes low enough, (might even need to come back up a bit) but I'm hoping the fronts will settle & drop a bit more after few more miles.

A few snaps. I've not washed it, but tommorow will bring a bit of a detail I think if the weathers nice!

Looks good mate. Didn think I was a fan of the wheels but they look good. Any thoughts one MY09 or MY11 rear lights?

Like Slade said, a set of MY09 or MY11 would look great and improve the back end a lot!

Other than that, looks great!

looks lovely! keep an eye on ebay for a spoiler as well i say! ride height looks spot on imo

very nice mate.I want a set of fat fives toooo

Thanks for the comments chaps. 09/11 lights are something I've considered to update it, not quite made my mind up yet though.

Looks wicked mate, I want a set of Fat 5s!

How much did G Werkes charge for a service pal? :)

Cheers Dan, along similar style, I got through a few sets of TT comps when I had my MkIV & Polo a while back, just love the simple design.

Was £90 all in for oil & filter, inspection and diagnostic report at G-Werks ;)

nice car mate. any interior shots? tbh i think i prefer your TT Comps to the Fat 5s, but each to their own.

needs a spoiler and some MY09/MY11 lights!

in regards to the BOSE i don't think you're missing out loads and loads. both my cars have had it, but tbh i'd probably save the money and buy an aftermarket system instead.

Cheers guys, No interiors shots atm, I'll get some more when its cleaner!

Looking good, what size tyres you running on the fat fives?

225/40/18, although I'll go 215/40 when these are dead I think.

whats the comfort like on the JOMs tim?

I'll reserve accurate judgement for a week or two as I have'nt driven it that much yet + they need time to settle, but my initial thoughts are I'm impressed. So far it feels like my other cars have after fitting coilovers that have cost 3 or 4 times the money. More detailed report to come in time.

Wow that's such a big difference to the look of the car since dropping it! Nice work :)

nice car Tim! Looks sweet! love the fat 5's :wub:

will keep an eye on this thread! oh & get it cleaned haha!!

Thanks! Got as far as going for a drive to buy some new applicator pads & a clay bar, but failed on the clay bar purchase, so got to wait for one to be delivered now :(

Cleaned the inside instead though ;)

are you from near hemel tim? looks like the buncefield area where you took the pics!

Car is looking sweet bro. Like others have said, just an upgrade on the rear lights and It will look spot on!

Minor mod, but decided to remove the eye drawing beige interior mirror and paint black today. Looks much better IMO

@ N8 been thinking about cheapish/easy things for now tbh. Considering Ali mirror covers/ painted ones like the new RS family wear, De-wiper the rear, maybe v.lightly tinted number plates or 80% font size. Really want an updated front end, but thats not gonna happen.

@ Warren Yeah, tried for a while just using my hands but came to the conclusion I need to get in the Gym more often, haha! Stuck some mole grips on there and twisted straight off! Cheers for your help mate

@ Fran I washed it to degrease it, used some plastic primer followed by Satin black paint I had laying around. Seems to have done the job nicely. Will look better from the outside, but not sure how it will look inside with all the beige around it :/

Sounds good, why not facelift?

Down to $$, I bought it to be a cheaper replacment for my TT, so cant justify spending a fortune on things like a facelift! Shouldnt really have been modding this one at all!
