Hi All,

Just a quick one, i dunno how many people know his but did u know that we have a lil speed limit beeper? (sure it probably has a fancy name)

Basically if u hit the lil needle (the one u use to change ur clock) push it inward once you have set your speed say 40mph for example everytime u go over 40mph it beeps and comes up with mph in the DIS. Its pretty cool.

Handy for those average speed things on the motorway set it at 50mph and relax. Also in 30 zones etc if there are a **** load of cameras about. u just push it in and hold it to turn it off again.

anyway maybe im slow on the uptake and everyone knows but i think its cool either way.

Cheers.

I did that by accident and couldnt turn the ****** thing off! was constantly beeping! might use it now i know how!

my favourite one is if you hold down lock on you keyfob, your windows wind up. hold down unlock and they open...

took me a few weeks to find the draws in the seats too! :)

Yeah same here, i had to pretend i knew what it was, with the mrs giving me funny looks.....:whistle2:

Im sure it does something wierd after 2 or so hours driving too, telling you to rest??

I forgot all about this tbh as I remember this in my S3, doesnt show it in my 8P's, urmm wonder if they removed or just disabled.

It,s a setting on the DIS now. It gives a load bleep and throws an orange warning symbol on the DIS on mine, useful

Strange as havnt seen that on my journeys from Italy, will go play with coding, as didnt see that as a dis menu setting.

Does anyone know what the highest speed you can set on this, as I was testing the car out on a private road (yeah right) when i hit over 110mph i heard a loud bleep and a symbol on dis came up, but as my dis has pixels missing couldnt make out what symbol was.

Sorted just had read on other forum and mine after pressing button with ignition off mine was set at 100mph and it apparently warns you if you are over by 6mph. Have turned mine off will test tommorow on way to work, damn I mean on my mates private road.

There are actually two speed limit things you can use. The temp one that be changed as mentioned and another that can be programmed as a hard coded speed. The mph (2) shows up for the hard coded one and appears at the coded speed +10%. If it comes on at 110mph it's been set to 100mph if you see what I mean. Quite handy that one.

I also like the tiredness flashing. If you ignore it and power through it appears another 2 hours later with an incremented counter so flashes 04:00 at you :)

ha! if i drove mine for over 2 hours it would probably break down! :)

Ha I found that when I picked up mine... It kept beeping when I went over 70... I was like WTF!? Thought I'd bought a heap... Then realised it was that :) pretty handy

How do you get that to work, my windows just stay the same.

Hi where are the draws in the seats I can't find them

Did you know that if you have vcds you can program the alarm to give a chirp when it arms and get all the locks to lock when you drive off, not opening until you take the key out of the ignition. I think this is a smart little feature which doesn't seem to be activated on most Audi's. I programmed mine up as soon as I got it.

My favourite thing that i never knew about until i came on here is the visor above the rear view mirror!

Little amuses the simple lol The wife and I have a good giggle about the extra sunvisor every time its used but laugh as we all may, it is handy !!

you can program vcds to make the wiper do swoop when you put in reverse when the wipers are on too,

not sure, someone did put the info up so maybe a search cold bring it up. its to do with adaptation i think. my old audi used to do it.

You won't find any drawers under the S3 recaro seats! This is one thing I miss from my old 1998 A3 1.8T Sport, but it's a happy trade for seats that are superior in every other way :)

Agris how do you programme the windows and auto locking then?

When you say programme windows what do you mean? As far as programming the auto lock I'll try sort out a how to with pics over the next few days, it's pretty simple just need to refresh myself so I don't tell you wrong!

hehe yeh forgot about that 2 hour thing anyone know if u can change the timer on that? had it a few times and have often had a break after seeing it to be honest it does make ya think about it.

the anti-hijack is a vcds thing right?

A fellow Grantham'er! Not seen your S3 about at all. Would be nice to know how to do the above with the locking. :)

Not had my S3 long and I live and work a few miles outside G'town so only really find myself in town briefly at weekends. What are you driving? Will sort a guide out shortly.

I found that when I was trying to set the clock after I first bought the car. 2 years later and I'd completely forgotten that speed limit thing. Isn't there 2 speeds you can set (with a 1 or 2 in the bottom corner of the symbol)?

I live just outside of Grantham but work in the centre. I have a Ming blue S3 :)
