Hi all, have decided to start my own thread on the progress of my A3 Sportback 2005.
I have had my car for about 8 months now, and after modding a Mk1 Golf, Saxo Vts and a Seat Leon i thought to myself i would call it a day with the modding scene...Then i came across this site :ninja:
My A3 is a 2.0tdi 140. The first thing i decided to do was a remap, which was done R-Tech in Hinckley. Dont know how to cover number plate, help would be appreciated.

My next mod were some TT vents, a nice touch i think. I have also debadged rear badges.

I then decided to save a fair bit of cash and get some new alloys.

I picked these up on Saturday, (excuse the towel) :ermm:
I have two stored in my bedroom and two in the living room until i have funds for the tyres, the parents havent stopped moaning since the weekend! :p
I have a few plans for the future. Top of the list is ofcourse the tyres for the speedlines but will not put them on until i get coilovers.
I also want to get a black grille and black surround aswel as a black front badge.
Then i would like to tint all around. New rear lights, cream leather arm rest, RNS-E...and perhaps s-line bumpers in the future.
The list goes on and on!!!
Any feedback and recommendation would be welcome
Cheers.

Nice pics mate. Never seen cream interior before in an a3. With regards to the number plate open the pic in paint and just cut it out then upload the pic without.

Love the wheels will look good when theyre on and it's lower!

All sounds good to me! Chris's old wheels ?

Thanks slade will do that in future, the interior was one of the main reasons that made me chose the car.

Yes they are warren.

mmm cream leather :wub::wub::wub: one thing i used to love about my old car and miss it and wish my current car had it , wheels will look very nice when they are on keep us posted on more progress

Nice mate, speedline ftw  maybe a polished on those? I like the cream interior against the black great combo and pretty rare. Looking forward to seeing the progression of this

Cheers Fran.
Will keep updating!

Polished? Haven't thought about doing anything to the wheels yet RS, just getting the tyres is top of the priority.
Didn't realise the cream leather was rare.

Cheers Fran.

no probs dude :), yeah it is a bit rare ive seen a few cars with it but not that many to be fair prob because it can be a bit of a ****** to keep clean

Keeping it clean is a nightmare. I changed the cream floor mats for black ones a month after I got the car as they were filthy. And I'm yet to find any sort of cleaner for the cream floor.

Cheers smoothie, if it ends up half as good as yours then I will be proud!

looks good lad, my SB is phantom black and i had the grille and surround paint gloss black which imo made the car look even better. the wheels will look great when fitted. next job for me is to drop it. keep the pic's coming, everyone like pictures :yum:

lol usual thing i see all the time in work bud ( im a detailer by trade) the easyest way to clean cream is to use upholstry cleaner like autoglym interior shampoo or similar (but ALLWAYS test in a unseen area first for colour fastness) then lightly wet area then get a scrubing brush and agitate then either suck it up with a wet vac or dry with cloths or something repeat untill clean , if that will not get it clean enough use a jet wash soak the mat with water add autoglym shampoo scrub with brush then rinse with jet wash or hose is just as good , hope that helps bud

Cheers bloblob2. Defenetly agree with painting grille as mine is grey, looks hideous!
I went to a body shop today to see how much they would charge to spray my centre caps and front rings black and they said it would cost £100. What a rip off! Will do it myself!

I will keep that info in mind Fran, it doesn't get too dirty but I might give it a proper clean every once in a while. I think using the autoglym will be the easy part, don't like the sound of drying it though. It was bad enough polishing it today haha!

no probs at all mate glad to help , with drying if its the mats then hang them out on the washing line on a dry day they should take too long to dry , if its the floor then run the car with the heating on full on the floor as long as you dont soak them then same as the mats they should take too long too dry

get the grille painted Daws, in a body shop, much better finish and will look even better than the black edition grille, nice and shiney! I sprayed mine before hand but it stone chipped very easily. mine only cost £65, so use this a figure to negotiate with.

I will have a look through your posts and find your car to see a pic of your grille.
What kind of black did you get yours sprayed? Gloss?
Off topic but like your pic, can't beat abit of the mau5!!

Thanks again for the info on cleaning Fran. Think that will be a nice summers day project!

Can anyone put up 2 pics of an optics/black edition grill and a painted one so we can see the difference!

Really smart looking car you've got there dude with some well thought out mods, ...LOVE those alloys!!! Can't wait to see some more updates on this. Will look sweet with a black grille, whether painted or otherwise. NOICE!! :)

Paula x

Thanks alot bugsy, take a look at bloblob2 thread as he got his grille painted, looks smart and i think i will be getting mine painted, depending how much they will charge.

Cheers Paula, cannot wait to get the alloys on. Just deciding on whether to get coilies or springs, mainly comfort!!

I have just ordered my glass grommet, no water sprays out so its not like its any use anyway! :ninja:

Hey Sam :)

The wheels are going to look sick mate you just need the lows now :) Tell your other half there's no more holidays till the car is lower :p

Chris

P.S. You've got me looking at remaps now lol

Alright Chris, cannot wait to get the wheels on and get her dropped. Don't you worry, she knows the score now! :icon_thumright:
Your phantom menace was awesome to see in the flesh, cracking motor!
Ha so I have tempted you to go for more power, good stuff!! :)

A quick update on some small mods i have done.
I have just had my front grill sprayed today, i went for all satin as it was cheaper than the gloss...Im really pleased with the outcome.
I dont know how to change the size of pictures on flickr so excuse the size.

I have also changed the rear ring badge to a matte black and have bought some new plates at Early edition at weekend, not sure whether to keep them on as the old bill might pull me for them...
