Hi All,

I have a few questions regarding 3dr A3's and Baby capsules...

Has anyone tried this particular combination?
Did you get back aches? And did it get better quickly?
Which seat did you install it on (if not middle seat). Can you still fold down the 60% seat if you have the capsule in the 40% side?

Thanks,

Ken.

You keep your baby in a capsule? In an Offspring-of-Jacko styleeee? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I got 2 kids in my 2 door A3, no probs. Had the car since the youngest was about 9 months and no bother gettin' her in and out over the past 2 years. The sliding/folding seats make it an easy job.

Of course, only thing to remember is that for the first 6-9 months you're pretty much restricted to the rear-facing style of seat which means the missus goes in the back and moans about the legroom...

As for the 60% fold down, yep done this without any problems either.

We're expecting our little one in late June. I was told that I'd have to use a baby capsule for the first 6 months.

What kind of baby seat did you use for the first 6 months?

The ones over here are made of hard plastic, where a small plastic removable basket sits neatly inside a bigger plastic capsule (shaped like a rectangular cup).

Hmm, mine was just a baby carrier seat - you know the type, seat with a fold down handle? Fits rear-facing with any 3-point seatbelt.

It wouldn't go in the back, not enough space, so front seat with airbag disabled.

Ive got a 6 month old and have had no problems at all with my 3 door tqs. Just got a nice recaro baby seat, switched the passanger side airbags off and had her facing backwards on the passanger seat! The boot is more than big enough for her push chair and all the rest of the crap thats associated lol

Ideally you are meant to have a child seat in the back, my S3 has ISOFIX, so yours might as well, but personally, I have mine in the back, just from a safety perspective mate, just something to bear in mind.

Just something i've thought time to time... when you have a baby seat on your leather seats, does it not put a big dent in it as our leathers are silly soft!? I'm nowhere near to having a baby, i'm just wondering

I think its the sweets followed by the sick that is the real problem with all seats

jesus how the hell did i find this post then?! lol!

how odd is it that this guys kid is (hopefully) almost 8 now?!

When my Kids were baby's nearly twenty one years ago, my Wife and I always had three door cars (Capri's, Metro, XR3I's, XR4I, RS Turbo, etc) and we never had any probs, so don't get a four door just because you feel you have to, unless its an RS6 of corse.

I had the whole 'you need a 4/5 door car now', but to be honest you dont, im fine with it, plenty of room for shopping, pushchair, all sorts really.

As for the seats, they do get marked, but a benefit of them being so soft is that they reshape in no time as well.

Haha, even after the change, it won't be possible to have a baby dude lol

I would not have a 3 door if I had a kid, a family estate would be in order!
