Budget Coilovers... Help/Opinions

I know there are tons of threads on coilovers about, but i couldn't really find what i'm looking for...
Basically i'm new to coilovers and i'm after a decent set for less than £300, Could anyone point me in the right direction or recommend a set please.

I've looked at such brands as Weitec, JOM, Jamex all on Ebay but its all foreign to me :gaehn:

Car is a 2004 1.6 SE, i'm not looking to completely slam it but would like to loose the 4X4 look. ANY help would be great.

ive got jamex and what ever people say about them i think they have done me good upto now. mine took a fair bit to settle but hasnt bothered me.

as long as you cake the threads up in grease you will be fine.

Seriously now, just keep saving and saving and buy a decent set, they are massively better than a cheap set.
Cheap sets Like AP, Jamex ect.... very crashy and the threads seize very easily, the more expensive such as Weitec, H&R
and KW are far superior in comfort and rebound control, as well as built with better materials which withstand rusty threads ect..

Might sound stupid but thinking about it I dont even think they are jamex now. Lol either way there were about £160 notes, personally the ride is spot on for me, If your going to fit 19's like I was planning your guna kill the ride anway so I was pleased when it was nice and smooth ride. Mine are caked in copper grease and won't be rusting anytime soon.

Edit I do have jamex :laugh:

I disagree here. The ride with my car on 19"s with 215s with KWs on lowest setting was proper solid and comfy! Loved the ride...

That's fair do's because like I said the ride of mine now is quite smooth and not as crashy as the standard sport suspension. Soon as I put on the sport 17's though I seen a big difference in comfort because of the much bigger sidewalls
 
Yeh I saw alot more comfort as well when I put the fat 5s on, but I also look at the car and it looks ***** so time for the 19"s to come back out :laugh:
 
How much did you pay for yours ben? I know I got mine after you but i can't remember what I paid But think it was 160 but stuff just leaves me these days lol.

so i take 19s looks good but can effect your handling and comfort and 17s dont look right but is more comfy and handles well and 18s is somewhere in the middle
god its giving me headache what size to go for and then i gotta decide on collis or springs and then votex or sline spoiler and then to convert to single grill or not and then to have a remap and with who eeeeeeeew i wish id never found this site lol

Yeah making random spelling mistakes but iPhone makes it's own stupid words up. Goin mad haa not stopped all day. I must of paid that then.
