Hi all,

Here are our details:

Sky Insurance's target market is the car enthusiast, specialising in policies for members of car clubs such as AUDI-SPORT.net We believe that anyone who puts the time and effort into looking after and modifying their ‘pride and joy’ is a lower risk than your average driver.

Unlike other players in the insurance market, Sky Insurance do care about our customers, and will do our utmost to find the most suitable and best policy for each individual, at a competitive price.

Limitations;
Limitations of the scheme imposed by Sky Insurance are that all policy holders must be at least 19 years of age and have held a full driving licence for at least 2 years. We will be more competitive for the older drivers with a good driving record rather than a 20 year old with 0 NCB looking for comprehensive cover.

Quotes;
To obtain a competitive quote all you need to do is give Sky Insurance a call on;

08701 121 759 or 02083645500

or visit our website site or us requesting a callback using the information below;

http://www.skyinsurance.co.uk/car_clubs.html

email to: carclubs@skyinsurance.co.uk

Please state that you are a member of AUDI-SPORT.net when you phone through.

We are very much an enthusiast company, we have a few genuine performance car fans working here, myself included. We offer the following:

20% Discount for club members

Like for like cover for modifications

Enthusiast company who specialise in insurance for car club members and modified vehicles

Car club member competitions & incentives

Personalised service, no call centres

Company branded car which we take to shows and meets

Second car discounts/Mirrored NCB

Just one thing, we would always need to speak to you on the phone to go through a quote, we cannot provide a quote via email or PM. Feel free to send me your contact details if you would like a call back at a convenient time.

Many thanks
Ollie

To save anyone else from wasting half an hour - please be aware that Sky Insurance will not insure cars worth over £25k - that would be an absolute maximum I was told, £20k is their normal limit.

Might be useful if that was mentioned in the "Limitations" section above ?

Seems a bit strange when the website goes on about specialising in Performance and Prestige motors, with Range Rover, Bently, Maserati, etc all mentioned as target market

That's very strange, I've never heard of an insurance company who has a cap on the value of the car, especially one that's as low as £25k! I mean a Mk6 Golf GTI with a few options is easily over £25k to buy, nevermind an 8P Audi S3, and any decent spec A4 also.

I am a bit suspicious myself, and wondering if there is some other reason they didn't want to insure me.

After I gave all the details, including the value of the car, there wasn't an immediate "sorry we can't insure you". Instead, I was told he would go and speak to the underwriter and find the best price for me and call me back.

10 minutes later he called back and his exact words were "the sole reason we can't insure you is the value of your car".

I've since found out that they insured someone a few weeks ago who quoted their car having a value of £27k, so maybe it was something else, but if so, I wish they would just be honest and say so.

We have various schemes, a couple of these schemes to have caps on the value of the vehicle but we should have still been able to find an underwriter for this, if you would like to PM me your details I can look into this for you.
Thank you for trying us.

I tried sky insurance for my scooby and was told they could not insure me in my post code!!!!!

We can insure in any UK postcode but in some we are uncompetitive so we make this clear as early on as possible to save wasting anyones time.

Fantastic, excellent quote and cover, unfortunately it is one of those times I hope I don't need to speak to you again, but I'm sure if I do you will be as helpful as you just were.

Thanks
Matt

got a great quote last year, enough so that i took out the policy, the only bugbear i had was with the 3rd party company that deals with their payments. Usually i just paid my insurance outright but having been made redundant and only just gotten a new job i took the payments route! Anyway, nothing but issues month after month! would have been better off going for another quote with the amount of aggro i had and extra 'expense' for having to sort that out. at one point i had my policy cancelled because of their muckup with payments!!

Not just 'playing to a sponsor' - I solemnly promise.

I got a very good quote from Sky last year when I bought my B5 TQS Avant, so naturally took out the cover. Thankfully *touch wood* aside from making a windscreen repair claim (which of course is handled directly by the AA windscreens folks) I didn't have any reason to make another call until renewal time. That was a couple of days ago; it's gone up this year, but when the media are talking about an average hike of around 40%, the (just under) 10% mine increased seemed fairly reasonable. I didn't check everywhere but it was still significantly better than the cartoon people, opera singer and meerkats could come up with.

I paid monthly last year and can honestly say I didn't have a problem - maybe you were just really unlucky, but it's a shame your otherwise good experience was tarnished a bit. Better luck next time!

Rob.

I'll be giving sky insurance a call for deffo this year. I hadn't heard of them before but will be very interested in the price sky can provide vs my current insurer Chris knott.

Glad I called Sky as they were over £200 cheaper than my current insurer and way better than all other quotes I recieved.

Many thanks guys.

:s

They said they couldnt insure my postcode... Il send you a quick pm ollie and see if you can get around this

I just wanted to say a quick thanks to Ollie for ringing me up after my problem yesterday. Now thats customer service!

I'm with SKY on the RS4 and was also soon to do the insurance the wife's car (August 1st renewal).

Only little annoyance I had was 3 weeks ago I transferred over my M3 insurance to the RS4 and paid the additional premium (no issues with this). At the time I stated that in a few days to weeks but within the month I'll be assigning a private plate is there any additional charge.

The chap I spoke to said nope they wouldn't charge me for this. (I did know there usual terms state £25 hence I asked directly and the fact it's all done in house and as simple as someone typing a few digits in under 20 seconds.

Anyway got stung for £25. Bit annoyed as stated:-

1.) I'd asked the question and told no fee for me
2.) The phone call lasted less than a minute

Poor show. Just my opinion, if I'd not asked about the fee's I'd have accepted it, being told one thing when I changed the policy and then charged a few days later when assigning a plate disappointed me. Most insurance companies would waver the admin fee anyway because as said it's in house and a 30 second task which £25 for is a complete farce.

Now having to source another company for the wife's car as matter of principle for being lied to.

I absolutely agree with you, please PM me your details ( I will PM you) and I will get this resolved for you.

Just for information though, we have now started charging for personalised plates , this procedure was bought in last week, hence the change.

Thanks

ive just tried to get insurance for my audi a3 black edition 2011 i live in peel green manchester sorry sir we dont cover that area?? wtf?

Do sky ask for claims in the last 3 years or last 5 years? Seems to be different depending on the company! thanks

In my case I have had a claim free(my fault) history for 15 + years, I went overseas to work and have not insured a car for that time...........now when I am looking for insurance I have to start at 0 % NCB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Makes a massive difference..............like A4 2.0 170 BHP Diesel = 800 @ 0% or 150 -250 with 15 yrs NCB................EXPLAIN ? Does none of the previous count for anything????????????

And I am over the 25 year old stage....................................by a few years:whistle2:

Unfortunately if your NCB is over 2 years years old it will no longer be valid with most UK insurers.

But if you are convicted it stays for a lot longer than 2 years !!! so why penalise good drivers? I am sorry that argument does not wash with me. A persons work experience counts when they apply for a new job yet this just vanishes into thin air............

By the way this is not directed at your company in particular but the insurance industry in general................then we wonder why so many people drive with out insurance.

Just wanted a post a quick thank you to sam a sky insurance.

My Insurance is at due the end of October I paid about £450 last year so when my renewal reminder laned on my door step I didn't expect to see the £690 printed on the form nothing has changed from last year apart from the car value has dropped.

So been shopping around and today got a call back from Sam at sky , I didn't think he would get anywhere as earlier today quick fit rang and said they would better my renewal quote ..........£900!!!! I think not ,
I was pleasantly surprised when sky came back with £470 and only £250 excess plus mod friendly.

Just a big thanks to Sam. His customer service was excellent, and got me a really great deal with a full Audi votex body kit on.
Highly recommend these guys and will most definatley use again in the future. Cheers Sam

Danny

Definitely going to have to be trying out sky next year in january when insurance is up!

whoop! i've just done a quick quote online and it looks like current insurer has been beaten by about £330 :) from 750 down to 422.

its a shame my policy doesnt run out until 25th April, i just hope the quote doesn't change too much between now and then, or too much when i complete the final details...

does anyone know what Sky are like when it comes to adding mods? does the premium tend to go up much?

Firstly Hello everyone! First day on the scene!

Been a scooby man and just bought an S3 225, does anybody know if SKY do a second car / limited mileage policy as Its more of a weekend car so doesnt get used enough to pay silly prices!?!

Cheers in advance

Hi,

thanks for the feedback, please speak to us on the phone to go through a confirmed quotation.

We specialise in modified car insurance but whether your premium will be effected will depend on the modification, if you are planning mods mid policy it would be best to declare these at quotation stage.

Car Club Insurance Scheme from Sky Insurance

Thanks

Hi,

yes we insure many customer who have more than one vehicle, we can look to 'mirror' the NCB over and offer a limited mileage policy. We do struggle with customers who live in Manchester and some of the surrounding areas though.

Thanks

Very big thanks to Craig @ sky insurance. Very nice chap who saved me £300 over my renewal, look forward to renewing next if if it stays this good.

Thanks again
