GUTTED ! DELIVERY DATE PUT BACK .

You have been given the exact same build week as me and I ordered August 5th

Should we do a joint cancellation ? ? :eyebrows:

Over 8 months wait for ANY car is a joke...but not a funny one :(

Why would audi change model if there are massive backorders?

I considered cancelling but test drove the Merc C Class sport and liked it but was too dull inside, and the same goes for the BMW M Sport. So I think I will stick it out and have a nice new 11 plate.

If you are having trouble with the wait, just demand that Audi give you a loan car until yours is ready. That's what I did and 2 weeks later I had an A4 1.8TFSi S-Line delivered to my house, delivery miles only, for use until my car is delivered. And they insured it.

I know you aren't getting your A3 any quicker, but at least you are in a new Audi. My A3 is due in November, so I have only a short wait (hopefully)....If I can get one then so can you.

Lots of people on this forum have done this as well - my wait doesn't seem so bad now...

I did indeed )

He.he. Small world. I thought there wouldn't be two "evapor8"s from Guernsey. :) I remember you from the '180 forum. Happy days.

Cars delivered in a timely fashion. Imagine that!

My local dealer has just confirmed that he'd be looking for an order in the next week or two to guarantee a Feb/March 2011 delivery.

That's a bit sooner than I wanted to commit, but I'm not a patient man!

6 Months for an everyday hatchback (in any guise) is an insult

Thats why I cancelled mine while I had the chance

I feel for you guys and hope you get it sorted soon

NINE months wait for me :(

Whilst it is insulting, ridiculous, disgusting, unprofessional (and many other words!) Audi have us over a barrel. You either cancel (as you chose to do) or wait, as I've chosen to do.

They have the car I want at the price I want to pay. For reasons unknown to me, they can't (or won't) meet demand. Is it an attempt to make the brand more exclusive? or just plain and simple mismanagement?

Personally, I think Audi are making themselves look like a bunch of inept ameteurs and doing untold damage to the brand. Maybe Audi think differently ? Who knows. Not I.

9 months for me too but I am getting the car I want at a good price and willing to wait as not in too much of a rush, plus it allows me time to save more money.

I was really excited about getting mine, was the 1st time I have ever spec'd a car at the dealers. I started to get nervy when the couldnt give me a build date after 3 months of placing the order. So I bailed out and ordered a 135i M Sport - think I should have that Christmas / New Year.
Still love and will always love S3's.
Will keep popping back to see your pics when it arrives !

The attached image is an indication of what I will have to put up with if I take a car ordered by my local (and only) dealer:

Bear in mind that we don't pay VAT here in Guernsey and you'll see how royally they're trying to screw the buyer of this car!

Chris

Edit: It's a 3 door (no buckets, standard interior)

At least the prices are cheaper than in France!! But, isn't it a bit frustrating owning a car like that in Guernsey? Can you ship accross from mainland UK?
