Hi,

I know someone was talking bout re-directing air con air into the inlet but ive just found this (board i know).

The idea sounds good but not too sure if it will add anything. If anything might just add bit more air into the intake ???

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-AUDI-A2-A3-A4-A6-80-100-TURBO-SUPERCHARGER-INTAKE--_W0QQitemZ380135573189QQcmdZViewItem?rvr_id=&rvr_id=&cguid=53f6e2d61270a0aad480ed80ffa60ecd#ht_1780wt_754

Hmmmm. Nope.

Don't buy one of these for god's sake. I will take as much power from the battery that will need to be replaced as you could ever possibly gain in air flow.

If that add's 3 - 5 bhp then my penis is 12 feet long.

Think about it. Your 180 BHP A3 will be flowing around 145 g/s of air through the MAF. How can a small electric fan possibly improve that figure? The fan couldn't blow 145g/s alone, meaning that it will just act as an intake obstruction, making it more difficult for the air to actually get into the engine.

My advice. Avoid.

In all honesty if you think that mod will improve any part of your car then you really shouldnt be messing with your engine at all. Theres a billion and one mechanical and logical reasons to not put that in your intake.

Agreed, put the spanners down.... LOL.

In all seriousness though, forget it mate. It might make a useful paperweight or doorstop, but that's about all they are good for.

I didnt expect great comments. Just thought someone might of tried them. I can see the idea & why it would sell to some spotty corsa drivers thought.

Im pretty sure its not electric just driven by in-take.

the ones i saw were electric. they were pants and did nothing at all.

Oh I see, it's not one of the electric ones - which makes it more pointless IMO.

All that would do is draw energy from the moving air to turn the blades, slowing the air down in doing so. The blades will never spin faster than the moving air anyway as it isn't powered, it can only slow it down.

I'm not being 100% negative about it, fair enough, I expect they sell some. I think they are total pox, but I would much rather give you an explanation as to why I think that, rather than just say it.

LOL, less of the Corsa drivers slating, I had one and I loved it. I didn't bother with one of these though, we just slapped a 2.0 valver engine in there and wound it up to 210 bhp.

But you now have a S3 so not really selling me the GM badge. Fair doe's though 2.0 Corsa cant be bad. Not a patch on the Audi though.

P.S hope your spots have cleared LMAO !
