Driving home in the rain, all of a sudden the car just steams up, couldnt see f*** all, blowers were on full, tried cold, tried hot, would it f*** clear the windows, had to slap the AC, cleared the windows, turned it off and straight away they were steamed up again.

Now surely there must be something wrong! I cant drive round with the AC on all the time just because of the rain. The strange thing is it's never done it before, had it all through winter etc last year and it was fine.

Ive remember reading about people using lynx on their windows, surely that cant be right! Would the rainx stuff be any good that offers to keep the windows clear?

Any help.

Unless water is getting into the car, moisture from a leak would cause that problem

I left a wet cloth in my boot the other day now as soon as it rains windows steam up! have you left anything damp in the boot mate?

When did You replace your pollen filter?
AFAIK if it is dirty that might cause problems with steam on Your windows.
I would try this first.

i have to use the front blower occasionally but other than that...dont use the aircon at all unless we have hot days for which i prefer the window down unles its spanking hot...

oh and i switch it on to circulate now and again

Haha you are a d**k sometimes.

Have you seen the front end of my car recently? lol. Whats on after that? Hopefully the car will have had a full respray by the end of august, i hope that is.

Sometimes if the rain is really cold the windows will steam if the car is hotter inside...or you have a leak/wet cloth in there..

turn the recurculation off and let fresh air come in, 99% sure it is that.....:icon_thumright:

On the pre-facelift models its always off dave, you have to turn it on.

forgot yours was a pre :p

hehe!!!

doood dont worry about the front, there will be plenty of bashed up ones, have you seen the pics from last year? an A4 with two different coloured dooors down one side :)

Both my S3 and Passat with CC does this, and I'm pretty sure there's no leaks into the cabin. It's when you have used AC to take the moisture out the air, and you flick it off, then the windows steam up, condensation builds up on your windows, as there's moisture in the air when the A/C is switched off. Simples. Keep it on mate.

Mine is on all the time as well....

Sod that, theres only 1 garage nearer me now that sells v power (used to be 2, but some t*wt decided to knock it down to build a school, how selfish ) anyway, v power = my precious haha.
