Hello!
Im looking for some unpainted audi rings for my ibis 2010 8p, i would realy like it in ibis white, but i could just paint it myself.

Ive been googling and ebaying but no luck...
can i buy this from audi? anyone got part number?

Is the swap a big operation?

here is a image of a A6 with black ones

Sorry for my bad english.

English seems fine mate. Just go on ebay and type audi rings in, should bring up some used ones. I bought a spare set to spray black for £1. They can been seen in my signature photo.
Not a big operation, you will just have to take the grill out and pop the audi rings out. But me i left the lower part of the grill attached as i couldnt get it away from the front bumper. Then i just put my hand behide the grill with a screw, pressed on the clips and the audi rings pop out.

Edit: Try this seller on ebay user name power-66

Thank you! i wounder what i searched for before:keule: Are all the rings the same size?

So wait, take the grill out to take out the emblem? That's a hell of a job just for the emblem!

I'm guessing so yes as the one i bought said A4 front rings and they fitted my A3, but sure some of the guys with more knowledge will be able to tell you, or a quick call to your local dealer to confirm :)

Thats the only way i was able to do it. Inless you want to risk damaging the surround grill area where the badge is trying to break it off lol.

ill just walk around the neighborhood and practice breaking off badges before i do it on mine :), im just kiddin.. maybe ill just wait until i can afford a black grill aswell.

 let me know how you get on with that:thumbsup:

Ebay in the US do a satin black rings front & rear. dubshop or summat. About £15 each & a better base for painting than ****** chrome
I got them for the A3 excellent fit & exactly the same size

thats how i practice DIY mods haha! :ninja:

I've got black front rings I think from dub step too, they look miles better esp with a black grille.
To remove them you either undo the top of the grill and bend it forward or carefully prise it out from the front with a screw driver.
I tried the first method first and found it impossible.

sounds great but can't i just use some kind of "acid" to get the chrome off? and then lay some primer? did you take out the grill aswell?

Try "oven pride" which is an alkaline oven cleaner. It takes the chrome off plastic brilliantly!

Interesting thread this been meaning to do this mod for a while! How did you guys manage to take the back embelem off without scratching the paint?

I think you do it the same way as with the "model badge", warm it up with a heat gun or hair dryer and use dental floss/fishing line like a saw, and polish it up again :) im not a 100% sure tho, Im just guessing its the same procedure.

Yeah just found another thread on this, and this seem to be the way forward....

make sure you get the right rings, they do differ on some models. I bought a new set from audi for £15 ish, rubbed them down with sand paper, undercoated then top coat then lacquer. they do stone chip easy if done with a spray can, you may be better getting a body shop to blast them in your colour.

Well got my Rings in the post today from Dubshop in the US. You can see they fit perfecty!

Yeah i think they suit mate, Ive managed to get rid of all the chrome apart from the headlights, fogs and and side repeaters. Lamin x will sort that out and my spoiler and new diffuser should be on this week to add a bit more black!
