So has anybody got any stories of when they've crossed paths with a celebrity??

I have, in case you hadn't already guessed .....

A few years back I was meeting a friend for a drink in London's Covent Garden. I arrived at the meeting point (in front of a big clothes store) but he wasn't there yet so I called him from my mobile.

Whilst I was talking to him I noticed a woman standing next to me looking at the clothes on display in the window.

I double-took and realised it was Martine McCutcheon AKA Tiffany from Eastenders.

Now me being me I decided to say to my friend on the other end of the phone in a loud enough voice for her to hear....... "Guess who's standing next to me?? It's Tiffany!".

She turned, looked at me and said...........

    "It's Martine for f*ck sake!!"

    Bitch!

PS: I won't even begin to tell you what happened with Emma Bunton! :faint:

Ha haa! "It's Tiffany"! I like that...

I studied in Manchester in the early nineties, so there were always my kind of minor celebs (Manc music people) about the place.
One night I was drunkenly weaving about in Dry bar and accidentally knocked someone pretty much clean off their chair. I slurred an apology, looked again and it was...Shaun Ryder! Made a pretty swift exit, as his mates looked a bit aggrieved like!

Kept clear of that kind of smarties for a while after that...

    Another brilliant Aythree story! :)

I was in Emmerdale a few times, as was my mrs. They used to film it at my school so I was an extra, just walking past the camera etc. I always remember Adele Silva (Kelly Windsor) basically pole dancing in the cloakroom we were filming in. I'm sure she was doing it just to arouse a bunch of 16year olds. :)

They then moved to my wifes school, where she was then an extra, before we knew each other...crazy beans.

Only other thing I can remember was last year at Formula Student at Silverstone. Me and a few mates were walking down the back of the pit lane, and saw a dude walking towards us getting interviewed on camera.

One of my mates was rather dense and hadn't noticed him, and was looking at us jabbering away. Anyway, he was so bloody close to clattering into him. My mate looked at him, right at the last minute and let out a startled noise and apologised. It was Ross Brawn! Ross didn't even bat an eye lid though, either arrogant or professional, ha.

And tell about Emma Bunton! Did you finger her?

mine was during uni time and rushing to get the train back to coventry from euston. i had to leg it on the platform to get on the first carriage which meant walking through first class. as i walked through i though" getting bussy in first class" aint it these days...kept walking and then there were photographers infront on me facing me. I turned to actually look who was sitting next to where i was standing and it was Tony Blair. I just turned to him and said "alright" and walked on.
I've also seen gary from eastenders whilst they were shooting the episodes about 2 years ago in brigton. I was on the pier with my gf and we noticed them shooting. After i said "hey gary hows it going" in which he totally blanked me and walked off....C**T!

    BigBird...you remind me of another

A few years back I went to see The Enemy in Leeds (for which I have been to confession, and will never do again). Being 6'3 I had never crowd surfed before, but the place was bouncing and well packed so I thought i'd give it a go. Before I knew it I was on stage with the band. I had no idea what to do as I had not planned on getting this far.

I ended up doing the campest air guitar you could ever imagine. My only saving grace was that the bouncer from the back of the stage basically ran into me and launched me back into the crowd.

I'm still not sure whether the band thought I was taking the piss, or what as they didn't seem to like it too much.

I would rather be bummed I think, than go through that embarassment again.

Not quite good as yours aythree but last year at the renault world series me the missus and my lad bumped into Chris Eubank in the paddocks, completely changed my opinion of him from being an arrogant cock to thinking what a really nice bloke he is, he made time for all that approached him.

The year before we met Alan McNish and Dindo Capello at the Le Mans Series at Silverstone.

Thats about it for me on the celeb spotting front.

    Classic crazy!! :lmfao:

Nope, didn't manage that. Although thought it could be on the cards at some point. Basically me and some mates were in some secret nightclub in Chelsea. It was like something from the movies....... walking along a quiet street, there was a big door with a peep hole, knocked on the door, peep hole opened, bouncer let us in, full blown bar/nightclub with people smoking out of bongs and smashed out of their heads.
Saw Bunton in the corner and she kept looking over at me every few minutes. I played it cool for about half an hour, just to make sure it was me she had her eyes on. Convinced it was I started to make my move over to her, nervous as hell, took a quick look back at my friend who I was standing next to for encouragement and noticed there was a big fat off mirror just behind where I was standing.
Realisation struck so I made a detour to the bar and never considered approaching the vain biatch again. :sorry:

It was nice whilst I THOUGHT she was checking me out though.

    "alright"!! Hahahahahahaa!!

A children's TV presenter who's married! To a woman? Blimey! (can't find emoticons to show the shocker!! face)

At 6'5" myself, crowd surfing was never a good idea. In the dodgy clobber I've worn over the Years it'd have looked like some f@*ked up chinese dragon thing...

Mind you, I'd rather wear my dodgy clobber again than be bummed! That's a non-experienced judgment call BTW - I had many brilliant Years clubbing in Brighton but I'll leave that particular brown stone unturned...

I think the most embarrassing one for me was:

I was about 15 at the time and we were in the local McD's, all of a sudden my mate spotted someone and said to us "look, it's that guy from mastermind!!"
We all got overly excited and started walking past him and looking in his face and smiling.
The excitement got too much for me as it was my first "celebrity spot", so I went up to him and said.... "You're from mastermind aren't you!!!".

He looked at me and said... " Nope, I work in the sports shop down the road".

Embarrassed, I went back to my friend who announced the guy was Magnus from mastermind and told him that it's just the guy from Monarch Sports down the road.

My mate just said " I knew I'd seen him somewhere before" and walked off.

    TWAT!!!! Him... and me.

    I've had a couple:

    1. When I was about 8-9 years old, my dad organised a Round Table celebrity darts night in the Lake District, and Eric Bristow was the main attraction. He played a leg against me (him 501, me 101, and sadly I lost...) Really great bloke, and happily chatted away to everyone on the night.

    2. Once filled up with petrol on the M1 and glanced over the other side of the pump to see joe pasquale filling up on the other side. Got a smile and an 'awight' from him.

    3. Just last year I very nearly crashed into Jason Plato on my bicycle in Oxford, when he stepped out into the road on his mobile. Got a smile in apology and he hardly missed a word on the phone.

    Cheers,

Remember... us londoner's live our whole lives within a square of about 10 miles by 10 miles. Anything outside of that is classed as overseas.

I too have seen Alison Hammond, coming out of Iceland on Institute Road in Kings Heath, Birmingham and get into her blue Vectra..I am quite a vigilant dude.

Also I had to take a 6am flight to Edinburgh from Heathrow one day, saw James May walking about in the lobby, then saw him on the same plane as me! It was a cheapo plane, this was back in 2008 before the credit crunch. Also pretty sure there was no 'first class' on this plane. He was with a boy and girl, looked like late teens..

    I should be a spook!

Met Tom from Kasabian a few times hes always at my mates BBQ's, hes sound for rocker.

Couple of weeks ago got to shake one of my top all time favourite dj's hands when I went to see him in Manchester, only seen him at festivals and massive clubs so to meet him up close was awsum, I couldnt be arsed asking for a photo cos i looked pretty ****, he's 7ft and got MASSIVE hands he's the f***ing daddy of techno, Isaiah Major aka DJ Rush. Met a couple of other of my favourite DJ's which Im pretty chuffed about, they always tend to be really flattered and down to earth..... :)

Russell Hoult, former leicester city goalkeeper and his family came to view my mum and dads house as they were thinking of buying it.

He walked through my bedroom as i was watching football!, very weird!

Think he plays for notts county now.

Also spotted that coloured OTTIS bloke that used to be on CITV in a lapdancing club in prague, he was sitting the other side of the stage in front of me, my mate went up to him and asked him are you OTTIS the Aardvark, we were quite p***sed.

Funny and embarassing at the same time.
While playing with firearms at Blackwater in the US about 10 years ago, Steven Seagal was on the firing point next to us with another small guy who looked like Super Mario. I went up to say hello and he just blanked me. I mean totally blanked me, looked at me, tutted, and turned away. I walked back towards my friends saying something along the lines of "Super mario must be tolerant to hang around with that arrogant tosser".
"Super mario" turned out to be Massed Ayoob who was my instructor for the next five days.

Oh, and for the record, Steven Seagal is a ridculously insane good shot.

I hate arogant famous people. I can see why they are arogant if you act like a prick towards them, but if you go say hello and what not I don't see why they have the balls to be arogant. They wouldn't be famous without us average people buying their movies/music etc.

rant over. Good story though dude

Alice from vicar of Dibley lives near me and she always use to walk around trying to be spotted. A mate of mine saw her on the high street and shout "Oi Alice" and she turned round and shouted F#ck off back at him.

I also saw James May in Totnes a few years back. But he was walking along with his wife so I didn't bother him

    Bradley/Brady something form S-Club 7.

Was serving this guy in my mobile phone retail days and had (still have) no idea who he was. He was speaking really quietly or close to mumbling when I was asking his name for the system records and I had to ask him to repeat it twice. After a while I still couldnt hear him, got annoyed off so I asked him to spell it for me lol - think he was insulted?

After I went to take a copy of his proofs my colleagues told me he was from S-Club 7. Ironic thing was his credit card was declined LMAO. His reason was that he was at a BBC award and had the card on a 7k tab...

    Hope he wasn't offended!!
