Sorry Mark, I'm away every week now until June
8 days i thought it was the 7th may ?
Ooops.... My bad :-(
I thought it was next week.... Good spot ;-)
As a new member to this forum (albeit a longstanding Audi/VAG owner since 1978 and A2OC forum member amongst others) the location suits me perfectly given I live about 15 mins drive away! However I can see the argument from those who might live t'other side of Leeds or Cleckhuddersfax or even darkest deepest Hull that it is a bit of a trek. I hope to get along to the May meet and put some faces to names on here.
I'll be there. Nothing in my to do list and it would be great to put faces to forum names.
Anymore for this month's meet at The Old Post Office?
Hey Guys and girls..... Just another reminder for our monthly meet this Wednesday.
Starting from 18:30.
Weather Forecast looks good at the moment, so if your free then why don't you join us.
Friendly bunch of people and a great community.
Hopefully see you all on Wednesday.
Yorkshire and Humberside Regional Team
Who is coming tomorrow night then?
Sorry I'm away again
Hope you all have a great time
Just us three then? Lol
Candle lit table for 3 then..... ;-)
My humble apologies, My car is without direction following a complete steering rack failure on N/S off rack. This occurred mid point on a tightening 90 degree corner to the right. Speed roughly 50mph in a 60 limit although the road was narrow and twisting. The car refused to continuo on the direction of my input and straitened up. Big boot to brake peddle stopped with no incidence. It did take me over 1.5 hours to drive 2 miles home. V8 coupled with the suspension setup and 255/35/19 tires and no power steering. I'm waiting on my steering racks return from full strip and rebuild.
Failure down to previous owner using ATF (red) not the green specified by audi thus rotting seals. Sorry folks for not being there.
I'm Scotland bound
No problem pal.... Always next month ;-)
Good little turn out last night....
5 in total. As always, great banter, discussions and atmosphere.
And was excellent to see a new face. Welcome Ozzy
Despite the cold and rain, I received a warm welcome - thanks for that guys.
I'd like to thank Brandon for taking a ride and helping me identify some issues with the car. It's currently with Votex in Congleton, Cheshire having a few things sorted. Turns out the whining noise was the rear differential/haldex which is getting replaced, it also needs new rear springs and roll bars which are getting done at the same time as the diff. The dump valve which the previous owner had fitted is getting taken off and being replaced with an OEM one which i'm assured is perfectly good.
It's never nice to find out you have been fed a load of bull**** and inherited someone else's problem, but i'm glad I found out what the issue was before anything went bang at 80mph with my family in the car. I can't recommend Votex enough, it's a good 90 minute drive from Yorkshire but i'll be taking my cars there in future.
Always welcome buddy!
It was actually Brandon who couldn't wait to go for a drive with you....I'm the one with the Grey S3
Glad we could help you identify your issues, we are all about helping our members out. Hope it isn't too costly! It will drive alot better once all those are fitted and you will be happy in the knowledge that it's ok....the childish grin will return.
Hope to see you at a few more meets and shows, we are a good bunch really!
Glad we could help you out Ozzy.
And it was good to meet you.
Hope it doesn't turn out to be a huge bill, but like Shaun said it will drive alot better.
Next Wednesday Folks..... 4th June
5. S3 Paul
I will be there but unfortunately I'm working in ashby (east midlands) that day so I'm not sure when I will be home, I might work overtime on Tuesday in order to finish earlier Wednesday.....
As long as you don't turn up at 10pm, I'm sure we won't gang up on you.... Lol
Good Evening Folks.....
Do we have any other members wanting to join us this Wednesday at the Old Post Office?
Hi Mark. Sorry I'm working away. If it was a Friday I would have been able to make it
Good turn out as usual.
Plenty of fun, laughter, discussions, and advise.
Good to be around "Audi Friends"
And was great to meet 'Toby'. Very nice A4 Cab that I think we all liked. Hope you got back ok
Yeah, good to meet you all and thank you for making me welcome! Just got back in, not a bad drive out and it was good to see to some decent cars!
This was the scene in the car park when I arrived:
See you again next month
Where definitely a friendly bunch....
Apologies for putting you into the deep end at first over our romantic meal and the issue over Brandon's steak... It won't happen again... Lol
Thank you for coming, it was great to put a face to a name. We all appreciated you coming.
And yep, we hope to see you next month... ;-)
Hi guys, new to the forum so I'd like to just meet a few more people where are these monthly meets usually held? From Bradford, West Yorkshire, hopefully not too far away hahahah hopefully meet all the Yorkshire region soon enough
Hi Eddy, welcome! All the details for the meet are at the start of this thread - I went to my first one on Wednesday and everyone was really friendly and a good laugh!
Welcome to ASN!
Our monthly meet is held at The Old Post Office in Bretton (Wakefield) every month.
The details for this meet are below:
Ah not too far from me then! I'll make sure I make it then look forward to meeting the lads!
Quick question, anyone experienced plastidip? Used it last weekend and I couldn't think of a bad word to say about it, but on Thursday walked out from work and it all pealed off did wash the car 24 hours after spraying it, anyone that's used it think it might've been washed a bit too soon?
Do any of you attendees own vcds? Iv got an airbag fault light.... Cheers Russ
Russ, shaunS3 has vcds. x
A fellow doncaster member..... I have Vag com if you need your car scanning Oldredeyes1
I had air bag light on other day, codes read something like 'passenger side igniter limit reached' :|
The last time I got an airbag passenger side code it was the connecter behind the glovebox. Unplugged, blew in it and replugged in.....cleared codes and its been fine since.
This Wednesday night for the next monthly meet guys. Who's coming?
