    Its an interesting thread this.

    The race manifold would provide what expected gains/benefits do people think?

    Already have custom stage 2 map, tip, fmic, 3" downpipe, 200 cell sport cat and steel exhaust, full silicon hoses, green filter, etc...

    Website claims gains but any experiences of this mod would be beneficial. The part seems to be a reasonable price.

    Read Welly's hybrid conversion thread... it has all the info you need there...

    Prawn will also be using this as part of a conversion for his A3 track car soon too...

    Sorry, i should have read from the start.

    Wow!...very impressive. About 10-12% potential gain then from mani alone.

    Interested to hear about other individual experiences of fitting and the differences felt on the road.

    Tempted by one of these along with a badger fat tip. I assume revo stage 2 will still be suitable with these mods?

    Down pipe has been on my car since June of this year and has been spot on. I haven't fitted my exhaust mani yet but Welly ran the same one for around 2k miles without an issue.

    did you get the downpipe with the 200 cell ?. Im thinking to heat wrap my downpipe and mani, As i have done with all my turbo cars in the past.

    No mate I got the de-cat so I can't comment on the cats as to whether they will pass an MOT or not.

    Well spoke to xs power today and the manifolds are £250 out Monday and can send Monday and will receive Wednesday so they say.

    Just need to now about discount price now can anyone help tar

    Surely if you sell a product like a 200 cell sports cat it is designed to pass an mot? Why are people questing whether it would pass an mot or not?? Is there such a thing as a poor high flow cat?

    because this is a seller that didn't even bother to test that the mani and DP would even fit a K04 properly before they started to sell them. If Welly hadn't intervened and amended the design it would still be an ill fitting piece of kit.

    These guys aren't specialised exhaust makers so dont expect the cats to pass an MOT just because they're selling them.

    I know that one of the guys was going to get his fitted and tested very soon, so we'll see.

    Aha, I didn't realise about the fitting troubles. Well I wait eagerly to see if your friends one A. Fits well and B. passes an MOT. I dare say if both fitment and functionality are good then this combination at this price are no brainer purchases :)

    Fitment is spot on now mate since Welly did his work. I ran the prototype DP on my car afer XS changed the design after Welly had sorted it. Fits like a glove.

    Welly himself ran the prototype mani when he had a k04 hybrid and the mani gave him a huge power increase.

    The only untested element out of all of this is the cats. I run a decat so I've never had a cat to test. Hopefully somone can shed some light. If the cats are MOT friendly I may buy one at a later date and get it welded into my system.

    you wouldn't need it welded in Westy, I'm fairly sure the CAT is in the second bolt on half of the 2 part downpipe, so you could ask them nicely if you can just buy the lower section :)

    Can't wait to get mine ordered and on the car.

    I have one of the original manifolds, kindly modified by Bill, so I'll see how that goes first!

    Surely you chaps must be getting close or over the 300bhp mark on the standard K04 with:

    Badger5 V2 TIP, jetex filter, heatshield
    FMIC
    XS Power Manifold
    3" downpipe,
    3" decat pipe and 3" all back
    007p DV
    Remap

    On stage 2 with the above mentioned mods, the best i can recall on Bills rollers was IRO 285. Anymore is hybrid territory

    I'm aiming for as close to 300 as I can. Adding to the above list:

    WMI
    Larger injectors
    Custom remap
    Large port head
    Rods

    We shall find out next year ;)

    So the xs power mani sounds like an impressive bit of kit but, as i have read in this thread, there's still some debate over its long term integrity in which only time will provide the answer.

    My question then is, as i dont fancy taking this on myself, how big a job in terms of time and potential mechanic costs would there be in an xs power Manifold install?

    Would this install require anything else at the same time too or it is just a bolt off/ bolt in job for the mani?

    I'm very tempted to pick one up but don't want to make a mistake.

    The xs manifold sounds good.

    Aside from the basic manifold cost...what does anyone anticipate a mechanic manifold install cost would be?

    Have many of you had this installed yet and what were their experiences?

    Also, is there anything else, that I might need to consider if and when I go for it?

    Would welcome anyone's thoughts.

    What gaskets will i need when fitting my downpipe and decat? i Know ill need turbo-downpipe gasket but is that it?

    The manifold is not an easy thing to change. Most will remove the cylinder head to get at it.

    With the head off you will need a new head gasket and timing belt. Also whenever doing the timing belt it's a good idea to do the water pump too.

    You can make this job as involved as you want In terms of work and replacing parts.

    You may want to get the turbo checked or refurbed while you're near it. It would also be a good idea to do the DP at the same time. With the head off you might want to get that checked over or change the rods for forged ones. The list is endless.

    Even if you only wanted the mani fitted it'll still end up bein an expensive labour bill as it's quite a big job.
