I checked out other Audi sites around the world. I was reading a review of the A3 from an newspaper website back home (Australia). The A3 2.0T Sportback starts at A$50,000. The GOlf GTI is at A$40,000. And can anyone guess what they want for a basic A3.2 V6?

Anyone?

$50,000 is around £21K using current exchange rates
$40,000 is around $17K.

How about...

A$75,000?!?!

I mean - WTF?!? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

A$75,000 is £31K

£10K extra for a little bit more performance and some uprated brakes? What is Audi Australia smoking? Golf GTI is going to outsell the bejeesus out of both of them. VW reckons they'll sell 1200 GTI vs. 300 A3 V6.

Anyone know how many of each are sold in the UK each year?

You should see the prices here in the Netherlands. I paid more for my 2.0 sportback than you would pay for the 2.0T in the UK. The 3.2 is another league. Even if I could have justified the cost for the 3.2 I wouldn't be able to deal with the fuel costs. I just read that CNN declared Dutch petrol to be the most expensive in the world!

Well. I wouldn't call Finland too cheap either when it comes to car prices.. Let's see:

A3 2.0T: 41.750 eur
A3 3.2: 45.000 eur

And by default they come only with the basic Ambition (sport) accessories. You don't even get a stereo for that price, not to mention automatic climate control.

Stop whinging, you have great blonde pu$$y up there and good porn on evening TV.
