Looking to please the masses who like nice 'safe' programming and protect all that it holds most dear.

My old man does odd jobs for Guru Josh in Ibiza, and given what he charges for a night on the decks at Space I can sort of understand why the BBC may be drawing the line at the day rates of these guys who now want footballer salaries for spinning the decks. That said they don't mind spraying out the cash on detritus like that dancing show which seems to be every f**king second of the day, and they'll probably protect BBC Directors pay and pensions before they'll cough up for progressive entertainment. It's a shame.

yeah the do demand a huge sum of dosh i used to work for liquid nightclub in cardiff and they used to have the best dh's in the world there and yes they do demand a lot of money for what they do but the business benefits a lot from those nights too so i can see radio 1 going down hill fast when they bin said dj's tbh i will give them a listen if they are good then i'll stick at it but if not them I'm certainly not going to bother with it anymore i'll just listen to afterhoursfm instead lol

Its shocking what the BBC are doing. We pay our licence fee and they till dont have enough income!!
As you say Warren, everyone wants the salaries like the football stars that ordinary people couldnt possibly hope to earn in the real world. I
personally dont listen to a lot of radio, but Judge Jules is one that I do like. As you said Warren, they look after there Directors and to h*ll with the rest of us who pay the fees to keep them in there very comfortable life styles.

Just wait for 20 years and they'll all re-appear on R2.
