    Hi guys,

Just put a deposit down on a 2006 (56) A3 3.2 DSG SB!! Its fully loaded with everything apart from Bose, Sat Nav and MFSW. Pretty happy, got a good deal from a Audi dealer. Picking it up in a week or so.

One thing i don’t like is this car has a Symophy radio with the single CD and tape deck which looks well old and out of date! So would it be possible to fit something like these without too much trouble?

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=350151322125

By the way which is the better unit out of these three?

Would I need any other parts or VagCom work? It is just a case of pulling out the old one and adding the new one? Will the radio still be displayed on the DIS, and when i get a MFSW installed, will it control it?

Cheers guys, can wait to get my new car! It sounds amazing and I’m well happy with the DSG!

Yer, dont really want RNS-E as I have a TomTom and the fact it cant search on full postcodes and add POI really put me off! Maybe that is the way forward, what sort of money do they go for? I take it you need VagCom as well to install it which I dont have :(

    Cheers :)

It will most likely work without needing vagcom, mine did. It will just depend on the vehicle it came out of.

Your right in that TomTom is probably better, its just the OEM look is so much better.

It can also be linked to an interface so you can connect anything with a composite connection eg, DVD, playstation, reversing camera, TV. It can also be connected to access you phone via bluetooth.

Hummm, so what sort of money are we talking to get it setup and working. Whichi is the best RNS-E to get to ensure it works fine with everything then?

Looking into this more, I also want to fit a MFSW so it prob best to fit the sat nav and the wheel at the same time? Anyone tried this company for retrofitting things? http://www.vwcruise.com/index.html Look good but expensive!

Does anyone know wheres best to get a MFSW and get it fitted? I suppose if i get Vagcom i can do it myself?

    Thanks guys :)

Yeah I have a setup for sale, as you're asking me about the mfsw aswell then seems a possibility to do it all for you, I can install the lot or get my mate whose up your way to do it for you & trust me he's very good & respected on here, but of course I have the kit so could send upto him to install, lets see if we can find a FBSW for you 1st, whilst doing that it should be a serious consideration to do bluetooth aswell which ties in with the SDS facility(speech dialogue system) allows you to tell rns-e to do functions, make calls, change to radio, cd, nav etc, also very controllable from the wheel aswell

The rns-e even with tom tom is the best way to go even if you dont use nav.

We both have vagcom etc so saves you the expense for now.

OK mate, that sounds really good but if i'm going for BT as well, might get a bit expensive!? Anyway let me know and we will see what we can do. BT sounds like a good feature to have, also i'd like to buy/have some one do some vagcom some work on things like coming home lights and auto locks etc.

    Thanks for your help.

Things like locks & coming home would be done anyway at same time if needed as its easy options to do, expensive it can be but when you see it working as everyone I know they have never said wasnt worth it or its expensive, to compare, audi charge what 2k for the rns-e alone, probably £4-500 for BT, FBMFSW £700 I think, you could do the btooth, rns-e, fbmfsw code all options, add SDS & stlll get fair bit of change out of 2k I reckon, but boy do they look & work well, ask anyone on here.
