Wipers are slow?

Has anyone had any problems with their windscreen wipers working quite slow? Even when on the high setting theres not much difference in speed, it propably does even get up to normal speed!

I've lifted the wipers out of the way and turned them on and its still the same.

Does this mean the wiper motor is on its way out? Any ideas?

It's not the wiper motor it's the spindles in the mechanism seizing up. See here for more info:

Superb - Many thanks Andy for the DIY fix link etc. Its just what I need when I tackle it at the weekend. Hopefully I won't break anything!
