After a screen replacement they must of put the drivers side wiper on to high as its hitting the A pillar . I've removed the cover and undone the nut . Do I actually have to pull the wiper arm off the spindle.? As when I move it the passenger side moves too

Yes you need a wiper removal tool to get it off the spindle. Like this tool

There are cheaper ones one eBay for £5 but I had trouble fitting it on the from wiper.

The spindle is made from a harder metal than the wiper arm, which has a soft metal insert.

When you remove the wiper arm you need to clean the grooves on the spindle as you tend to find the soft metal is stuck in it. It also best to get a new wiper arm as the spindle creates grooves in the soft metal of the wiper when tigthing it for the first time. Saying that I have re-used the same wiper and not had a problem. Just make sure it's torqued to the correct setting and you'll be fine.
