I know InPro do chrome-effect wing mirror caps for the S3.

But is there anywhere that does wing mirror caps that have a brushed aluminum or matt effect?

Where's the best place to buy the InPro mirror caps from? I know they're on Ebay, but would prefer buying from an online store.

Nice, did you just spray them? You did it yourself?

Why would I need second hand mirror caps if spraying...surely I could just spray my own?

Nice job. Think I might just do that. The chrome ones stand out a bit too much.

I have just changed my wing mirrors to the InPro chrome one's as my car is silver and wanted them to stand out (no silver paint could come close to the colour I wanted). I also used a chrome spray to test it out, the colour was fine, but I was unable to lacquer them as they just turned grey but without lacquer the chrome just rubbed off on your hands.

The wing mirrors are the same size, I held them together while they were off and they were both identical. My sister has a Mk 4 Polo which has different size mirrors (passenger side is significantly smaller), maybe they have got confused with them?

I was on to the company there and they say they can get the covers for a pre-facelift S3 8L, but that it will be a special order (bit more expensive). I don't mind once they fit.

But am I correct in understanding that there is definitely a different fit in wing mirror covers between a prefacelift S3 and the facelift S3? InPro have diff covers for pre-facelift and facelift, so I'd be pretty sure that this is the case?

Will update once I get the wing mirror covers of these guys.

I was thinking of going for InPro, but I think they stand out too much on a black car, especially when it's as filthy as mine is hehehe.

Yeah, I should imagine they would stand out a fair bit on any other colour and especially black. I did want the Alu one's really, but couldn't justify paying the extra £30 or so for some mirror covers that look near enough the same colour as what I already had and will probably just get nicked anyway!

Apparently there is a difference between the pre and facelift models, I didn't ask on here but did enquire to the shop selling on eBay before buying. Obviously I can't take what they say as being definite, but they assured me there was a difference (slightly different shape or something).

Hi, i purchased some of those chrome inpro covers from ebay, i must say i wouldnt use him again, as i when i fitted them, there were big gaps everywhere and especially under the bottim where the plastic cover screws on, so bad that after a load of naggin, he eventually sent me a new cover, but that was just as bad, so out of spite i didnt send him the faulty one back.. bastard..

got the originals sprayed in the end..

    up to u though mate..

Cheers for that. I had heard some good reports about the InPro and they do look good from a distance in photos - but maybe that's just it, they look good from a distance where you can't see the spaces?

Is there a chance that they gave you the wrong covers for you model? There are two different sizes of InPro, one for prefacelit and one for the facelift.

How much did it cost to get yours sprayed? What was the finish like?

Hi, they were definitly the righy ones for my model as i made that very clear to him before purchase..

as the for the spray job.. my local body shop sprayed them in a brushed chrome effect.. similar to s3 mirrors and charged me 80 pounds, so would have been cheaper than the in pro in the end if i hadnt already wasted the moeny on them.. lol.

The InPro caps I have on my prefacelift are a tight fit, what gaps? And they look awesome on a black car!

Hmm good question, I had them on my 03 plate one, & TBH I doubt if there's any difference between them...

I'll look up ETKA in the morning & compare part numbers on the standard ones...

Oh well, that answers that then... I'm out at Banff BTW.

Jojo I don't suppose you know if the mounts will fit do you? I have the glass & plastic parts too, so they might just go straight on & "facelift" the car...

I can't see why they would change the shape of the door, so if you have the complete setup, I can't see why facelift ones wouldn't fit a prefacelift, unless the wiring/connectors are different?

Ok the only markings in the alloy are A5/2/15 & a date. the plastics have 010 593 which i guess is a OEM part number so i expect they are genuine...

PM me with a number if you want a look...
