Windows open? Isn't the point of aircon to not need that?

The A3 S3 8P was well known for its "morning shower" water management feature when you had the window open.

The 8V appears to be no better, giving you a daily morning shower when it has been wet. I'm sure these will help :)

Plus those moments when you want to hear your exhausts without the wind buffeting .......

Personally I don't like them but I can see why people use them. Open one window in the 8P at any speed and the wind buffeting / air pressure differential nearly pops you ear drums until you open the other side a bit. Ditto morning shower, it's only funny when it happens on the wife's side of the car. That said for 7 years I didn't fold!

Wind deflectors ....some people just got to chave em! Imo not calling you a chav in anyway shape or form rob let me be clear on that. Have to agree with gee on this one, It's just the only cars I've seen them on are Corsas and escorts driven by the jd sports mackenzie manikin then again it might just be the area of the uk I live in.

I think they're up there with those stupid black bonnet cover things. Every rude boy has them to stop there piece of sh1t Corsa getting stone chips but they look ridiculous!

My bro in law has them on his VW Transporter van, but he is a member of the 'white trainer' brigade. It's a bit like having those folding sun glasses that sit on top of prescription glasses, they just look a bit cheap and naff despite the practicality. Black cars hide them a tiny bit, but not enough.

Might be chav looking but they serve a purpose I like them cause I live having fresh air in the car over using the blowers. Can have the windows open enough in what ever weather. I've had them on most my cars and will continue to use them

I was just thinking the same. Where's the tolerance about others' choice and opinion gone ;)

Funny how some items are seen as chav, but others not (air-ride, tinted glass, lowering springs, lamin-x, black rings, big bore exhausts, etc.) - not necessarily all of those particular applications contributing to performance, of course :)

Then again, this is the apparently snootier 8V forum :lmfao:

    I do.
However that's in part because I don't like the wind buffeting you get with windows open. And I don't like wind deflectors as they make cars look like minicabs IMO (chavs round here don't have em in my experience).

Not to mention that above town speeds aircon is more fuel efficient than opening windows (due to induced drag from the open window).

Haters gonna hate so they say! But I like them and that's all that matters at the end of the day. I don't run my life based on other peoples opinions sorry :). They serve a functional purpose and don't look bad. For the people that call them chavvy, you get these on Mitsibushi 4x4s, people carriers etc. The least chav cars around.

Here's mine anyway, they're team Heko from eBay. On my previous car I had Climair, no differences really. Heko are a darker tint and are shaped around the wing mirror so to speak. They also have 2 little clips that move them away from the window ever so slightly. On my old Climair ones I had bad trouble with them scratching the top of the window:

Would be a Boring world if we were all the same!
Looks alright mate IMO............ Lol at chavs with wind deflectors , they have a pretty broad description for chavs now:

Council Housed And Violent, hoody, flat cap, track suit bottoms, Nike air max trainers, tattoos all over , smoking weed, big gold chain, oh and don't forget whatever car he/ she has it's going to have " wind deflectors on" ! ;-)

None of which I am either, I've worked hard for myself, I've been down the college and uni route, worked for a successful career. Never spent time in a cell etc Bought a nice car and house with my own money, yet get labelled a "chav" over a set of wind deflectors. Such a world we live in these days unfortunately. I'd like to see a chav buy a brand new Audi.

Likewise in that same sentence of yours, you could label a chav as someone who drives a hot hatch... an over powered, modified version of a standard car... Possibly like a S3 maybe?? I know all you S3 owners aren't chavs but a lot of people on here are branding people with the same brush.

How come people have to hate? If you don't like it keep it to yourself. The OP wanted recommendations on wind deflectors not an opinion on whether people thought they were nice!

Respect to you for that, if we all went with the general consensus and didn't do our own thing the world would be one shade of grey. When you look at the amount of SuperDry and Hollister clothing on the average high street I'm REALLY pleased when people dare to do something different as the world is already full of sheep pretending to be 'individuals'. Good on you chap.

I too own wind deflectors and personally they look great black on black. Hi 5 to the wind deflectors on appearance but not so much on effectiveness and wind noise! .....
Ps... I wear joggers and hoodies but hey.... I have a nice car so who cares!

I'm with you on the wind noise, on my fiesta you could sit at motorway speeds with little noise. In the Audi they don't do as much.

Just dressed my old girl with a set of Team Heko and I'm 58 years old, retired, non hoody, financially sound and I personally think they look OK. So ******** to the knockers, I will put what I want on my car. It was the pics of the red 3 door that made me try them.

see I've just seen this and signed up to post
I currently have an S3 on order and due around March
I get called a chav because I wear tracksuit bottoms and jackets jumpers and air Max but let's be honest I'm 19 and have a S3 specked up close to £40,000 and I'm considering wind deflectors I have had good experience with hecko on my past two cars but don't get how you can be genralised to 17 year olds with corsa because you cab to dress up and have wind deflectors

i bought a set of climair for my sportback, but cannot get them to fit without creasing the rubbers. Also based on previous posts re issues with windoes not closing properly, scratching of the glass, and deformed rubbers, have put me off.

The wind buffeting when the drivers side window is down is awful though . . any other ideas or options to deal with it ?

^ Try Team Heko ones ?

I don't label whatsoever wind deflectors in the same category as bonnet bras.

A bra will never suit any car except to cover a crashed front ended one .

Sure they suit some models better than others , but generally they're sculptured well .
