Wind Deflectors - Worth it?

Why on earth would you want to use wind deflectors.

What benefits are you looking for?

I can't say I've noticed a problem with the A3 that would warrant it needing deflectors, but it would be good to have some more information.

Do you need to drive a lot with a window down? Dog in the car maybe?
