i disagree if you're saying you prefer the 8p shape. it has been around for donkeys and i find audi styling very 'now' compared to bmw styling where x years on the e92 5 series shape still looks current and modern in my opinion. in comparison i find audi styling runs out after 2/3 years
I like both but 8p just looks dated inside and out now
I'm sure e 92 is 3 series though
I have to say that the 8PA versions are the best looking outside, maybe not so much inside, but ive recently seen 2010/2011 and 2013 versions of the A3 that look almost the spit of mine from outside and mines 2005, which goes to show that Audi obviously think this shape is the best looking too or they wouldn't still be making them, if i personalised my number plate and changed the lights to neon, you would never know it was a 2005 version without closer inside inspection, the inside has changed a lot on recent versions though (Obviously I'm biased btw because i own an 8PA )
Have to say I'm with you on much of that.
But then, preferences are very personal, and I'm not about to chop in my old warhorse in any case.
Always preferred a 8p2 over anything, don't like the 8p3's because of the stupid DRL's, makes it look cheap. DRL's look fine on an a4 upwards but looks daft on an a3 and smaller.
Also like a well done 8p1, looks dated but can still look awesome if done right.
Regardless, 8P chassis all day long!
The 8V is growing on me.
Too right, 8P2 is perfect I think.
my wife's 2007 s line with pan roof in lava grey is a superb looking car IMHO
Definately, the new car interiors looks so cool and futuristic haha, and i saw an 8p sportback with all that leather and white stitching on the inside and it looks awesome but in the original post I was talking about the 2010 A3 Sportback to be specific, i thought all of the models after 2003 look the same shape
Still haven't warmed to the 8V. I understand Audi tend to go for an understated design but the new S3 does nothing for me. The 8P both facelift and pre facelift have more of a statement than the 8V. I've driven an A1 and I'm not even sold with the minimal centre console. By far, 8P2 is the better looking car.
I'm bit so keen on the 8V interior somehow it reminds me of that of a Clio lol, but like the sportback 8v
First thoughts were...Audi you've made a mistake.
Now seen a few about and actually it's better looking than the 8P, bar the alloy wheels, something not right with them. They all look poop.
Won't be buying one though. Once this S3's gone mid next year that'll be it. Time for a change, 6 years, 3 different 8P's. I'm all hatchbacked out.
The standard sport alloys on the 8V are gash, first thing I thought when I looked at buying mine, first thing to be changed on the options list
When the 8V first came out, I thought the same.
Over time, it has grown on me. The interior is just class though.
How about an Evoque
Well I worked for Landrover, know what they're like, actually not a bad car, based on the Freelander 2 with a different body basically plonked on top of the chassis.
But it's a girls car in my eyes. Poor visibility too, cameras are a bonus though.
I don't work for Landrover anymore, SEATS now, so Cupras and the like. All much the same as the rest of the VAG brands.
So very deep in VAG world now.
Think I want to go back to Mitsubishi funnily enough, miss my shogun, might get a new one.
