I got a quote from Privelidge for £388 for my A3 2.0 Tdi with 5yrs NCB as a 28yr old hospital doctor. Shame it has modifications on it :sorry:

Ended up going for Admiral, 5 yrs no claims protected, Plus my mods (bodykit / non standard alloys) = £600.

    388 Vs 600

And you went with Admiral at 600?

yeah, i was tempted to go with privelidge at £388, but its bit dodgy not declaring the mods isnt it, so I went with being an honest man! Its more expensive to be honest and law abiding!

They are all really steep quotes Spin? I'm paying about £430 at the moment for a 2.0T with 2 x SP30s

Have just updated with Churchill (current insurer) and only £112 until end of Jan 2008 so will review next year, I expected them to be really pricey so was going to surrender and start again elsewhere just shows how wrong you can be as original premium for the A4 was £322 this doesn't seem too bad :)

OK, so how about a "who pays the most for insurance?".. aka who has been mugged off the most.

Errm.. that would be me then. £1k on an 06 S3 for 29yr old living in London, 7yrs protected no claims, 10k miles policy with £250 excess :crying: .

That's with Privelege.. needless to say, next year I'm going to do a hell of a lot more ringing round to get a proper quote.

When I first got my own car I had a BMW 316i Compact. After about 3 days of owning it, I smashed it into a crash barrier. When my renewal came up, I bit the bullet and paid £1900!

Personally - I would not touch Greenlight with a bargepole. I had to go to their office (luckily not too far away) and physically get confirmation that I was actually insured with them. All I ever got was temporary hand written cover notes until that point. At the time they were also much much cheaper than anyone else.... I came to a conclusion that I didn't like at the time and swiftly moved insurers as soon as my "cover" was up.

That was a good few years back now, and they may have changed since then, but once bitten etc.

Well I will be going with Chris Knott unless someone knows another likely candidate?
