The favourite choice of DV is the Forge 007p. Apparently the Forge Splitter isn't all that.

forge splitter is wat i got good for recic but in the bov position it sounds **** really, i had a bailys on mine before the splitter and that sounded ace ( really load and alot of chatter), but i not keen on the bov thing so changed it was going to buy the 007p but for the odd day when i fancy a bit of dump i have the choice

Pretty much yes but personally I'd say stick with the 007P.

I guess it depends what you're after.

Forge Split R valves are solely so the engine can make noise releasing boost, as well as delivering air back into the inbound air flow. Not great from personal experience as well as experiences of others.

Forge 007P is a pure re-circ valve, and diverts all dumped boost back into the inbound air flow without releasing any at all. You will still get what I like to call 'putush' noise from it when using an aftermarket air filter/have holes drilled in your air box.

007P is a better all round valve for your engine, works in the same way as the standard diverter valve out of the factory. You can also turn it round if you want a bit more noise...

Conclusion. Split R valves are plop. 007P valves are good.

    Tip:

Awesome GTI are currently selling the 007p with the 'Awesome' logo on for about £10-£15 cheaper than the standard 007p. Got mine, just need to fit it.

i went from splitR to 007p splitR sounds nice but its really quiet and i found it caused compressor stall to much so wasnt work to well,
with the 007p i have fitted it in reverse and also fitted a sealed induction kit which makes a really nice chirp sound and probably louder then the splitR it also got rid of the compressor stall problem

What is the reverse position. I've read about it before, is it just upside down?

yeah rather then have the vacum pipe faceing upwards you fit the valve so the vacum line faces the n/s. forge say on there website its ok to do this basically the valve then works on pressure rather then vaccum

    Hi
My son had a 007P fitted to his MK4 Golf
Then my new fella came up to stay with us for a while , as he lives in Gloucester , he checked under my son`s bonnet to make sure he had the 007P fitted , and of course he did (good advise from his mummy)
He then took it off , and changed it round , the result , my son dancing like Homer Simpson and more noise from the CAI
I said why , then he went in to some long spiel about it , but I had switched off listening , as he is such an anorac when it comes to cars
But he was the sales manager for Forge and very clever too
So yes it is OK to use them upside down
If you dont like it , it only takes a few mins to swap back round

Oh yes and £65.90 all in delivered is the price of the ones with the Awesome logo on
This is part of the 12 deals of Christmas , so will end soon

I tried turning the valve round yesterday and it sounds pants! Sounds like someone blowing a whistle when you let off, very strange sound! Put it back now so it sounds like a wheezing old man with asthma again

Ummm, that's strange, I ran the 007p the other way on my Revo'd Mk4 Golf Anniversary, & apart from being slightly louder it was great. I did a load of logging with vagcom, & got better boost figures for requested against actual with it the other way around.
