Has anyone got any recommendations/prices for a remap on a A4 cab 2.5Tdi? I'm in the SE but can travel. Car is in standard spec (163bhp) but it would be nice to have a little more torque!!!! Any advice would be most welcome.....

Mike @ Impossible Performance in Rochester Kent. Mike has done many of the cars on Briskoda.net including my own Octavia, and I'll be taking my A4 cab there when the Audi warranty is over.

Cheers for the advice - I was thinking about DMS Automotive in Andover, though looking at the price of others, it seems rather expensive (remap and approx 30bhp gain for £700 inc VAT). It's the torque that interests me more...and the gain from DMS was about 50Nm over the standard spec. If I go ahead, do I need to be careful with the turbo/gearbox etc? Is there a limit as to how far I should go? What about one of these generic ECU plug in systems available? Thanx in advance...

You will not get a great deal of extra power from the 180.I have a 180 quattro sport and checked into this and the fuel pump will not allow it. Maximum I was quoted was 20bhp and not a lot of torque.DMS are the dogs but are expensive, (they have moved to Southampton now aswell) my wifes A3 140 is a pocket rocket.

My Octavia was a 180bhp vRS remapped by Impossible Performance, and there were sizeable gains done with the remap and the car was mapped like this for 40,000 HARD miles with no problems including 2 trips to the Nurburgring.

As for a discussion on 're-mappers' / prices / power and torque gains I suggest having a look at some of the Mk4 Golf forums, Seat forums and Briskoda.net

Best thing I ever did with the Octavia was a re-map and my cabriolet will CERTAINLY be remapped within the next 6 months.

Was originally 150bhp, which was 163bhp on rolling road.
Turns out I have a K03 with K03s internals, hence the big gain (and the advantage of a custom map).
What are the predicted figures for you on their web site?
