Hi I've had my s3 for just under a year now very happy with it like to make sure she is well looked after I'm a bit of a freak with it tbh! Got oil, filters and brake fluid done after i purchased it, Anyways it's only covered 14500 miles but is coming up for 4 years old my plan is to change oil and filter, fuel filter maybe get better air filter? Any suggestions? Or just stick with standard ?, get the spark plugs changed, brake fluid was done last year so should be fine? Also looking through handbook and haldex oil will need done this year? I'm getting it stage 1 mapped around August when all this is getting done aswell if that makes any difference? Once it's mapped should i step up the servicing a bit? I don't do alot of Miles and I'm only the second owner first guy was like myself and he had it garaged most of the time, if anyone wondered why so low mileage. Looking through some other posts cambelt and water pump should be fine till next year? Any advice would be great thanks

to get the best out of the map i would do the big service just before the map gets done
    yes haldex oil every 20k
    pollen/bfc every 2 yrs
i would probably fit a k&n air filter or similar

Audi recommend replacing the cambelt every 5 years or 75000 miles whichever comes first. I thought the haldex was every 40k miles but either way it's best to get it done for peace of mind. I'd also replace the cam follower to be on the safe side.

A stage one won't really make any difference to service intervals but beyond this people do say to replace spark plugs regularly.

    Plugs are another service item.

If you remap the car,it's well worth dropping the service intervals to 10 000 miles, and changing the plugs if you develop any misfires,as these are the first things to suffer.

Don't stick with the standard long service intervals.....if you look at the oil after 18-20 000 miles, you'll never do that again.

Thanks for the replies, my plan was to get all this done before going for the map as I'm still not sure who or what software I'm going to use yet, yeah ill get spark plugs changed, I don't usually do 10,000 a year anyways so would prob be getting services every 6000-8000 anyways, thanks for the heads up on cam follower seen alot of posts about them once mentioned it (still trying to learn about the car) so thanks for the advice, I would rather use a rolling road while getting car tuned just to make sure it's all safe after I had problems with old car I see alot of people just get them mapped?!

    That's probably true.

The people who do all of my work(AMDTuning in Lakeside) check the car over first, then put it on the RR before mapping, and again after, and then log it on the road.

I think most reputable companies will do similar.

Ive just had my second service now 22k. I definitely wouldn't leave it any longer than 10k intervals.

The oil absolutely stunk, and it was that runny it was a joke.

If you abuse it like I do, aim for 7/8k each time you drop the oil.

Also one thing I also noticed, on first start after a oil change...what a lovely sound the engine makes!!!!! I had 1 eye open and squeeled a little bit!
