I've had this in my parts bucket for a while pulled from a 99 Audi A3 8L 1.8 T with the bose system but aftermarket head unit and just wondering what it is and if it's any use in my B6 A4 (non-Bose)

Pretty sure it's the power for the rear amp but just handy to have someone confirm what it is as I can't find a part number.

I haven't seen anything like that before but looking at it I think it would allow you to pass your aftermarket stereo's speaker outs to the oem amplifier. The red plug would fit the harness in the car and has the right pins to carry audio to the amp. The other end is an ISO speaker connector that would go to the stereo. Best guess is that the wrapped up part contains circuitry to convert speaker level out to line level for the amp.
