Hi all,

I have just recently upgraded the HU in my A3 8P to a Pioneer bluetooth and Ipod unit. I am aware that the new unit will only be powering the front speakers at 50W and the standard (non Bose) sub and amp combo in the boot will be powering the rears at 20W or so. In a word this now sounds sh*t!

What I would like to do is remove the feeble sub and create a custom enclosure to fit in the left hand boot void. I take it will now need a separate amp to run the sub and to power the rear speakers? Alternatively I could re-wire the rears to the new HU?

I am not sure what the best option is. Can anyone recommend a good sub and amp setup and has anyone created their own custom sub install? It's a shame AndyMac hasn't mastered the 8P yet!!

Thanks in advance.

Yes you'll definately need a seperate amp for the sub, there looks lie there's a lot more space in the 8P so the enclosure shouldn't be too complcated to build. Let us know how you get on.
