Anyone know what Springs and shocks are standard on the MK4 R32 ??
Was in one on Sunday very nice nearly and very tempted to trade mine in for it but a few things let it down the quality of the interiour apart from Recaros and space was poor.
Seems to be lowered just nice and still deciding wether to hav Eibach springs and Bilstein shocks or just to hav the Bilstein kit What do you think??
    Decisions decisions hey /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

They are suppose to have H&R springs and Bilstein shocks to VW's rates out the box.

    Definately no recaro's...

Be careful when lowering the R32 mine was ok on the motorway but used to ground the front spolier all the time on most b-roads and bumpy a-roads and it wasn't even that low.

Also bear in mind you need to price up adjustable rear tie bars if you lower it as well.

Define let down by the quality of the interior? I've had a cuoploe of mkIv's a gti and the r32 and the interior was one of the best things about them, lots of space, nice driving position, decent quality plastics etc

The seats in the MkIV R32 were made by Konig. Look good and grip well but i could imagine them being a bit tight for people with broader shoulders.

Think she means, Recaros were very hugging and they were VW Recaros on that car??
Shes never been quite keen on the interior look on the golf's and regards to space, a lack of a boot, lol, compared to her A3.

Overall i was quite impressed, especially the exhaust note! WOW! Turn in and grip was very good in the wet (Peein it down).

Just wanted to know what the original setup was for Springs and shocks on the (OLDER btw) R32..

    TIA

As nervus has said, the Mk4 R32 came with Konig seats...not Recaro.

Personally, I don't like them...they don't fit me well and they are mounted too high.

    I think the Mk4 R32 has H&R developed suspension...not Bilstein.

Yup, thats it, H&R developed, but they definitely use Bilstein shocks, as I was about to buy some for my S3, they are in a zinq(sp?) type of finish, as opposed to the usual yellow powder coat finished of Bilsteins.

Sorry maybe i didn't right it clear enough but i meant i would and am getting my A3 lowered and liked the height of the R32.
Just wondered what springs and shocks to have on my car as i liked the R32 setup.
As for getting the R32 i think i may leave it as the boot is small and not to keen inside Feels a little cheap.
And well i love the colour of my car anthing thing darker would be boring.

No there were not the ones.
These ones i'm sure are the recaros even the sales guy said they were?
The R32 was a 53 plate maybe the previous owner had them put in??

These are the optional Konig interior with leather, the R logo is not Recaro, it's the R32 logo.

The MkIV didn't have a Recaro option, but im sure its possible to fit some aftermarket recaro's.

I've seen the optional Recaro's in the MkV R32 and they look great but I havent sat in them, only the standard R seats which are perfect for height.

Ok for some strange reason I thought you had a yellow Ibiza... Thats why I couldn't understand the interior comment. The A3 8P definately has a much nicer interior than the VW.

I've lowered my A3 on Eibach's pro kit and then again on the sportline kit...
